Company plans six electric vehicles by 2028, says Unsoo Kim at Auto Expo

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Thursday launched the new version of its compact hatchback Venue, with introductory prices starting from Rs 7.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), bolstering its presence in the robustly growing sub-4 meter SUV segment. The model, which competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Motors Nexon, Kia Sonet among others, comes with three powertrain options. The 1.2-litre petrol trim prices start from Rs 7.53 lakh, while the prices of 1-litre turbo petrol begins from Rs 9.99 lakh. The Venue diesel range also begins from Rs 9.99 lakh. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Wednesday announced the opening of bookings for its upcoming SUV Alcazar which is expected to hit the market later this month. The premium SUV which will come in 6 and 7 seater options can be booked either at the company's dealerships or online with a down payment of Rs 25,000, the company said in a statement. The Alcazar will be available in two engine options of 2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel with choices of six-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions. HMIL Director (Sales, Marketing & Service) Tarun Garg said the company became the highest selling SUV manufacturer in India in 2020, through its range of SUVs such as Creta, Venue, Tucson and Kona Electric.
