Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Pathaan" on Tuesday created history by becoming the first Hindi movie to cross Rs 1000 crore mark at the worldwide box office. According to Yash Raj Films (YRF), the Siddharth Anand directorial raised Rs 1.25 crore nett in India (Hindi - Rs 1.20 crore, dubbed versions - Rs 0.05 crore) on its fourth Monday. "The total worldwide gross is an incredible Rs 1000 crore (India gross: Rs 623 crore, overseas: Rs 377 crore)" the studio said in a press note. YRF said "Pathaan" has become the highest grossing Hindi film worldwide in the history of Hindi cinema. The stylish action thriller follows the titular spy (Shah Rukh) who comes out of exile to stop terrorist group Outfit X from launching a debilitating attack on India. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's spy thriller "Pathaan" has become the "highest opening weekend" grosser in the history of Hindi cinema with the earnings of Rs 542 crore in five days. According to Yash Raj Films (YRF), in the five-day extended weekend for Republic Day "Pathaan" registered Rs 60.75 crore nett in India (Hindi Rs 58.5 crore, all dubbed versions Rs 2.25 crore), taking the India gross to Rs 70 crore. The overseas gross on day five stands at Rs 42 crore, taking the total collection on its fourth day of release to Rs 112 crore gross. The Siddharth Anand-directed feature, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, has recorded Rs 207.2 crore in the overseas territories alone. "At YRF, we are proud that 'Pathaan' is entertaining people across the globe, pulling people to the theatres and giving them an experience of a lifetime!" Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, said in a statement. "The YRF Spy Universe films have also registered blockbusters every single time.

Comedy drama "Jugjugg Jeeyo" has minted Rs 36.93 crore in three days, the makers said on Monday. Directed by Raj Mehta and backed by Dharma Productions, the star-studded family entertainer released theatrically on June 24. The official Twitter handle of the production banner shared the first weekend box office figures of "Jugjugg Jeeyo" in a poster. The film earned Rs 9.28 crore on day one, Rs 12.55 crore on day two, and followed it up with Rs 15.10 crore on day three, bringing up the opening week numbers to a total of Rs 36.93. "Pyaar aapka satrang da! It's blessings galore at the box-office, thank you for all the love! #JugJuggJeeyo," the tweet from Dharma Productions read. Billed as progressive take on modern-day relationships, "Jugjugg Jeeyo" follows a family on the cusp of two divorces.
