A significant percentage of female blue collar employees in India are confident they receive equal pay, says a survey. According to leading job site Indeed's report titled 'The Pulse of India's Blue Collar Workforce', over 95 per cent of Indian female blue collar employees are confident they receive equal pay and 93 per cent of male employees have also said the same. The research was conducted by Censuswide on behalf of Indeed with 508 employers and 1,001 employees in the blue collar segment. The survey examined the state of men and women representation among the blue collar workforce in India and how blue collar organisations measure up in terms of diversity and work culture. "Our data shows that men and women in blue collar are more or less on the same page when it comes to equal pay, importance of equal gender representation and the benefits of it," Sanjukta Ghosh, Social Impact Manager at Indeed, said. Psychological safety refers to employees believing that they can take risks without being shamed by other members. According to leading job site Indeed's report on Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DI&B) at Indian Workplaces, 45 per cent of all employers surveyed believe that psychological safety is a strong performance indicator and 47 per cent believe it is a crucial need. This study was carried out by Valuevox on behalf of Indeed across 15 sectors and 16 cities, involving 1,200 employers and 1,500 employees of small, medium, and large businesses. The government on Thursday said it is examining a Supreme Court judgement which upheld Employees' Pension (Amendment) Scheme, 2014 and allowed employees to opt for enhanced pension coverage alongside their employers in four months' time. "Yes, sir. The directions of the Supreme Court in the judgment are under examination," Minister of State for Labour & Employment Rameswar Teli said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha. Teli was replying to a question on whether the government is aware about the Supreme Court verdict of November 4 on EPF pension scheme and by when it will implement the verdict and instruct the EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organisation) to take actions for giving higher pension. In another written reply, Teli said the court judgement has legal, financial, actuarial and logistical implications.
