Electric passenger vehicles retail sales declined by 10.51 per cent sequentially to 3,346 units in January 2023 over 3,739 vehicles sold in December last year, according to automobiles body FADA. Tata Motors's electric PV sales were down 17 per cent at 2,426 vehicles in January as against 2,926 units delivered in December 2022. MG Motor sales volume also dropped 12.55 per cent to 425 units against 486 units sold in the month earlier. BYD India reported 164 per cent growth in ePV volumes at 132 vehicles in January 2023 as compared to 50 vehicles retailed in December last year while BMW India sales stood 123 cars against 29 units in December 2022, according to FADA. Hyundai Motor India ePV sales were recorded at 111 units in the previous month over 91 units retailed in December 2022. The electric CV sales was recorded 23 per cent lower at 131 units over 170 units in December last year, as per FADA data. The e-three wheelers sale also dropped 3 per cent sequentially at 32911 vehicle
Electric two-wheeler maker WardWizard Innovations and Mobility on Friday said its sales surged over two-fold to 7,123 units in November this year as compared with the same month last year. The company, which sells Joy e-bike, had sold 3,290 units in November last year. Last month's sales number is the company's best-ever monthly performance till date. "With improved supply chain and consistent market expansion, we have been able to reach maximum customers, achieving another sales milestone. Our robust product portfolio and market presence have supported us to add new customers to the family," WardWizard Innovations & Mobility Chairman & Managing Director Yatin Gupte said in a statement. As customer purchasing sentiments are inclining towards electric vehicles to meet their daily mobility needs, the company is confident of carrying the same sales momentum in the coming months, he added.
The overall retail sales of electric vehicles (EVs), including passenger vehicles, in the country surged nearly 185 per cent year-on-year to 1,11,971 units in October, automobile dealers' body FADA said on Wednesday. EV sales stood at 39,329 units in October 2021. The total passenger EV sales rose 178 per cent to 3,745 units in October 2022 as against 1,346 PEVs retailed in the same month a year ago. Electric commercial vehicle sales grew 125.64 per cent to 274 units, as per the data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association of India (FADA). Electric two-wheeler sales in October 2022 stood at 73,169 units as compared to 19,826 units in the same month of 2021, registering a year-on-year growth of 269.06 per cent. Electric three-wheeler sales jumped 92.87 per cent to 34,793 units as against 18,040 units in October 2021.
