Metro passengers are requested to maintain proper decorum while travelling, the DMRC said
Commuters of the Delhi Metro can participate in an online survey being currently conducted by a global transport body across various parameters, including availability, accessibility and security, officials said Sunday. The Transport Strategy Centre (TSC) in London, which manages CoMET (Community of Metros) benchmarking group, is conducting the 10th edition of the 'Online Customer Satisfaction Survey' from March 27 to April 30. "The main objective of the survey is to know what the commuters think about various aspects of metro operations, and can give feedback or suggestions on improving the quality of service," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement. Commuters who wish to participate in the survey can visit DMRC's official website and submit it online by clicking on the relevant links. In a bid to ease traffic congestion and improve overall mobility on the city roads, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena chaired a meeting on Monday and approved decisions like alternate road plans and Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) plans for Delhi Metro stations, a statement from the LG office said. Several decisions have been taken at the meeting that was held with the governing body of the Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure Planning and Engineering Centre (UTTIPEC), it said. To ease the traffic situation and improve mobility, transport and transit in the city including alternate road plan from Chhatarpur on MG Road to Goalpahari at Haryana border have been approved at the meeting. Walkability plan for Mandi House and MMI plans for Shadipur, Mayur Vihar and Peeragarhi Metro Stations have also been cleared, the statement from the LG office said. Delhi Metro services will begin from 2:30 pm on the day of Holi, officials said on Monday. The festival of colours will be celebrated on March 8. "On the day of the 'Holi' festival, i.e., March 8, 2023 (Wednesday), metro services will not be available till 14.30 hrs (2:30 PM) on all lines of Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line," the DMRC said in a statement. Metro train services will start at 2:30 pm from terminal stations on all lines on that day and will continue normally thereafter, it said. Metro feeder bus services will also resume after 2.30 pm on March 8, officials said.

Delhi Metro will start handing over its fleet of 100 feeder e-buses to the city government from April, a senior official said on Tuesday. At present, these e-buses are running on six routes in the city. "The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will handover all the buses to the Delhi government from April 2023 onwards," the DMRC official told PTI. These 100 e-buses are the first fleet of electric buses deployed by Delhi Metro in the city, he said. Feeder buses are services to provide last-mile connectivity, and even DMRC smart cards are accepted for payment of fare charges. DMRC officials had in July last year said that running Delhi Metro feeder buses in inner areas was less viable due to under utilisation. Plan was that DMRC feeders buses would be taken up by the Delhi government's transport department for operations, they had said. Delhi Metro has qualified for the pre-qualification tender process for an international consultancy project to construct the phase-1 of Bahrain Metro, the DMRC said on Monday. The DMRC is bidding for this project which involves construction of around a 30-km network with 20 stations, officials said. In view of this, the Delhi Metro on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BEML Limited, the DMRC said in a statement. As a part of this MoU, the BEML will be responsible for manufacturing and supplying of rolling stock and the DMRC will provide expertise in the fields of project development, budgeting and facilitating development of contractual obligations for the Bahrain Metro Project, it said. Delhi Metro operations between Kashmere Gate and Vishwavidyalaya stations will be partially curtailed for a few hours on Sunday due to maintenance work, officials said on Saturday. "To undertake the scheduled track maintenance work between Kashmere Gate and Vishwavidyalaya section of the Yellow Line (i.e. HUDA City Centre to Samaypur Badli), train services will not be available on two stations i.e, Civil Lines and Vidhan Sabha falling in this section till 06.30 AM from start of revenue services on 19.02.2023," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement. Civil Lines and Vidhan Sabha Metro stations will remain closed from the start of revenue services till 6.30 am, it said. "Connectivity between Kashmere Gate Metro station and Vishwavidyalaya metro stations will be provided through free feeder bus service during this period," it added.
