Olympic 800-meter finalist Peter Bol on Tuesday said his provisional doping suspension has been lifted after the A and B samples didn't match. Usually testing of the B sample confirms the original adverse finding in doping cases. I was just informed that my B sample did not match my A sample, Bol posted on Twitter. My provisional suspension has been lifted by Sport Integrity Australia. Sport Integrity Australia later confirmed testing of the B sample by a World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory showed an atypical finding, but that in itself is not the same as a negative test result. The investigation into the matter remains ongoing. Sport Integrity Australia will, as part of its investigation, proceed to consider whether any anti-doping rule violations have been committed, the government-backed agency said in a statement. The Sports Ministry has launched a mobile application for the athletes taking part in the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games. The Games will be held in Bhopal from January 30 to February 11. The app will allow access to all information about the Games, on a click of a button. The app gives an athlete a chance to check if his or her verified documents have been uploaded, before the start of the Games. After successful registration, the athlete can check the status of the issuance of their sporting kits, the hotel in which the athlete has to stay, transportation plan for to and from the venue, as well as important contact numbers on which athletes can call in case of an emergency.

To prevent "inadvertent" use of prohibited substances by the athletes, the government will establish laboratories for testing dietary supplements, sports secretary Sujata Chaturvedi said on Saturday. Many sports persons, after failing dope tests, have claimed that they ingested prohibited substances 'inadvertently' through dietary supplements. Chaturvedi emphasised on having regulated testing facilities for the dietary supplements. "We recently entered into an MoU with the National Forensic Science University, Ahmedabad and the Food Safety Standards Authority of India, for a lab to help with the dietary supplement testing," Chaturvedi said at a function orgainsed by FICCI. The sports ministry has approved Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra's proposal to train at Loughborough University in the UK. Star javelin thrower Neeraj, along with coach Klaus Bartonietz and physiotherapist Ishaan Marwaha, would be training at Loughborough for 63 days and are set to leave for the UK later this week. Besides Neeraj, the government's Mission Olympic Cell (MOC), in its 86th meeting Friday, also cleared the proposals for shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, wrestler Deepak Punia, and javelin thrower and Commonwealth Games medallist Annu Rani. The approximate cost for the training of all the above-mentioned athletes would be around Rs 94 lakh which would be cleared under the sports ministry's National Sports Development Fund (NSDF).
