Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy on Thursday said it plans to install over 2,500 charging stations by this year-end to facilitate a hassle-free transition to EVs. The company has already installed over 1,000 fast charging stations across 80 cities in the country. The Ather Grid (charging station) is today the biggest fast-charging network for two-wheeler EVs in the country with 60 per cent of current installations in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the Bengaluru-based company said in a statement. "A robust charging infrastructure is one of the major drivers in accelerating faster adoption of electric vehicles. As a brand focused on building a vibrant EV ecosystem, we have made strong investments in building what is already India's largest public fast-charging network," Ather Energy Chief Business Officer Ravneet Phokela said. Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy on Sunday said it has drawn up plans to set up 150 fast-charging grids in Tamil Nadu by the end of the current financial year. The company recently inaugurated its first experience centre in Salem under its move to expand retail footprint in the state. With the inauguration of the experience centre, Ather Energy has nine retail stores in Tamil Nadu. "There are plans to expand its retail footprint to 15 stores and add 150 fast-charging grids in the state by the end of current financial year," a company statement said here. Electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy has inaugurated its third experience centre in the city as it aims to strengthen its presence in the country, the company said on Tuesday. The new retail outlet was inaugurated on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (popularly known as IT Corridor) and would sell the company's latest flagship products 450X at Rs 1.57 lakh and 450 Plus at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom) Chennai. Ather Energy has 49 retail outlets in 38 cities. The company plans to expand to 100 cities with 150 Experience Centres by March 2023, a company statement said here.
