Tim David, who should have been out on a first-ball duck only if the decision was reviewed by Rishabh Pant, ed Mumbai Indians to a five-wicket win over Delhi Capitals. David scored 34 off just 11 balls and in those 11 balls, he broke the back of the Delhi bowling, hitting two fours and four sixes to bring down the target to just 16 off 14 balls from 65 off 33 balls. 

Thanks to this win by Mumbai Indians and this effort by Tim David, an ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore player, the RCB qualified for the Playoffs and they would now play the Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator at the Eden Gardens on May 25, 2022. 

MI vs DC Toss Update

The toss between Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, which took place at 07:00 pm IST and 1330 hrs GMT, was won by the latter. Rohit decided to field first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Prithvi Shaw has been declared fit and walked into the Playing 11 of Delhi Capitals straight away in place of Lalit Yadav. There was no other change in the Playing 11 of either side from their last games.
