India's stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah was the hero of the rain-marred day as he not only broke the world record for most runs hit in an over in Tests (He hit Stuart Broad for 35 runs in an over) but also took 3-35 to break the bat of English batting. England, at the end of Day two's play, were struggling at 83-5, trailing by 332 runs with Jonny Bairstow and skipper Ben Stokes in the middle. 

Earlier in the day, Ravindra Jadeja completed his third Test century as India reached 416. Jimmy Anderson also completed his 32nd five-wicket haul.

Rishabh Pant stole the show with his brilliant century in which he scored 146 in just 111 balls to guide India to 338-7 at the end of Day 1 at Edgbaston. Along with Pant, Ravindra Jadeja also played a brilliant knock and is unbeaten at 83 off 163 balls, aiming to get a hundred. India were reduced to 98-5 at one stage before the Pant-Jadeja duo added 222 for the sixh wicket to provide stability to th innings.
