India reported an increase of 1,844 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 94,420. The country is twenty-fourth among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On June 27, it added 17,073 cases to take its total caseload to 43,407,046. And, with 21 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 525,020, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.

With 249,646 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 26, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,971,191,329. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,787,606 — or 98.57 per cent of the total caseload — with 15,208 new cured cases being reported on June 27.
