Texas (US), Sep 20 (ANI): 'Howdy Modi' is going to be houseful as over 50,000 people have already registered for the event which will be hosted by the Texas India Forum in United States. For the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump would share the stage to address more than 50,000 Indian-Americans during the September 22 'Howdy, Modi!' event during the session "Shared Dreams, Bright Future" that would focus on the success of Indian-Americans as well as the strength of the India-US relationship. The 'Howdy, Modi!' event will happen on Sunday, September 22, and will be 3 hours long - from 8:30 pm IST (India time) to 11:30 pm IST. It will be held at NRG Stadium in Houston. It will be the largest gathering for an invited foreign leader (PM Narendra Modi) visiting the US other than the Pope.

India raises issue of human rights violations by Pakistan at UNHRC

Geneva (Switzerland), Sep 20 (ANI): First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India at UNHRC, Kumam Mini Devi slammed Pakistan in the meeting. She said, "Our decision in Jammu and Kashmir is within our sovereign right and is an internal matter of India. None of Pakistan's attempts to misrepresent our decision can hide its territorial ambitions." She further said, "Let me turn to Pakistan occupied Kashmir and territories under Pak control, cases of enforced disappearances, custodial rapes, murders and torture of civil rights activists and journalists are common practices adopted to silence voices against government and deep state in Gilgit-Baltistan."

CPEC paralysing Balochistan, says activists at UNHRC

Geneva (Switzerland), Sep 19 (ANI): Human rights experts and activists from Balochistan have opposed the construction of the multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the region alleging it as an "illegal project" in the occupied territory. A side event titled "Economic Development and Right to Liberty - debate on CPEC" was organised by Baloch Voice Association on the sidelines of the 42nd UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva. Siddique Azad Baloch, a Baloch activist and human rights defender said, "Chinese will outnumber Baloch people so they will be having double the population against Baloch people. So, the existence of the Baloch is in danger." He also demanded an immediate international intervention, especially India, to save Balochistan from its exploration and human rights abuses. While addressing a press conference in Delhi, he said, "For 11 lakh railway employees, this government has consistently for last 6 years, being giving record bonus, equivalent to the wage of 78 days. IAF successfully lands AN-32 at Arunachal's Vijaynagar advanced landing ground

10 cops injured after tree falls on police building in Patna following heavy rainfall

Patna (Bihar), Sep 18 (ANI): Around 10 police personnel got injured in Bihar's Patna on September 17. The incident took place after a tree fell on a police building meant for magazine storage and also on an adjacent tent that was set up for the police personnel. Geneva (Switzerland), Sep 18 (ANI): Human Rights Activist from Pakistan Arif Aajakia on September 18 said that there is a need of India's assistance to end human rights violation in Pakistan. He said that people in Pakistan expect that Indian leadership will solve their regional issues. "It's an unfinished agenda, only article 370 revocation can't solve problem of Kashmir. Ludhiana (Punjab), Sep 18 (ANI): A man attempted to steal a 4-year-old child in Punjab's Ludhiana on September 17. The incident took place while the girl child was sleeping with her family members outside her residence in Ludhiana's Rishi Nagar area. However, the attempt was foiled as family members woke up and rescued the child. The accused has been arrested. The incident was captured in a CCTV camera.

Police directs bars, restaurants to close by 11:30 pm in Ludhiana

Ludhiana (Punjab), Sep 18 (ANI): Commissioner of Police of Ludhiana, Rakesh Agrawal, has directed the owners of the restaurants, dhabas and bars to close down their shutters by 11:30 pm. In a meeting conducted on September 16, Agrawal gave instructions to bar and restaurant owners not to serve hookah. He asked the mall authorities to expand the security check so that nobody can enter the premises with any weapon. Apart from this, the eateries have been asked to keep a record of the people coming there. However, hotel and restaurant owners have pointed out the problem in implementing it, although asserting that they are ready to help. According to sources, during the meeting, the hotel owners have put up their problems. They said the decision comes at a time when the government is working towards making Ludhiana a smart city. It was decided that a delegation will meet state's Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Bharat Bhushan soon and will take up the issue with the government.
