Washington DC (USA), Dec 19 (ANI): ANI posed two questioned to the leaders at the second India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue in Washington DC- How do you see US-India security partnership strengthening from 2+2 dialogue? And were there any discussions on regional stability, particularly taking out terror from Pakistan that targets India-Afghanistan? Answering the question, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, "We exchanged notes on challenges of terrorism in our region and the newer developments in that front. This is an area where the two countries have a very strong history of cooperating." Replying to the same, United States Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo said, "We are determined to protect American people from the threat of terror. We are determined to work with our great democratic friends like Indians."

Washington DC (USA), Dec 19 (ANI): United States (US) Defense Secretary Mark Esper at Second India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue in Washington DC said that as democracies, India and US have interest in advancing prosperous Indo-pacific. He said, "Our defence relation is strong and since establishment of 2+2 ministerial dialogue last year, it continues to improve. As democracies, US and India have an abiding interest in advancing free and prosperous Indo-pacific region." He further added, "Our close bilateral ties are critical to the success of that mission. I am pleased to report that we continue to make substantial progress in our military relationship."

India, US held 2+2 ministerial dialogue in Washington DC

Washington DC (USA), Dec 19 (ANI): Second India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue was held in Washington DC. Indian delegation is led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Earlier, EAM Jaishankar also met US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo at State Department in Washington DC. The inaugural India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue was held in New Delhi in September 2018 in the presence of Pompeo and late EAM Sushma Swaraj.

Washington DC (USA), Dec 19 (ANI): Second India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue was held between India and United States in Washington DC. While briefing the media, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, "Our counter terrorism efforts were also discussed at today's meeting and these have been boosted by growing consensus on the nature of terror threats in the region and the dangers of cross border terrorism". He further thanked US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for US government's support to the Chabahar project. He said, "I am very grateful to Secretary Pompeo for reiterating the US government's support to the Chabahar project which will immensely benefit Afghanistan".

Our responsibility to stand with Indian Muslims: Pak Minister

Lahore (Pakistan), Dec 14 (ANI): Pakistan Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad gave a speech in Lahore urging his country's citizens to stand in solidarity with Indian Muslims. Referring to Citizenship (Amendment) Act which witnessed nationwide protest in India, Sheikh Rashid said, "It's our responsibility to stand in solidarity with Muslims of Kashmir and India. Merger of 54 labour laws into 4 to enable large-scale manufacturing in India: Amitabh Kant

Washington DC (USA), Dec 14 (ANI): While addressing the media in Washington DC on December 13, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog Amitabh Kant said,"Another big thing that has happened in India is amalgamating 54 labour laws into just four laws and making major structural reforms there.""This to my mind will be really path-breaking and it will enable you to do large-scale manufacturing in India," he added."India came out with a new policy on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and our IPR regime has radically improved. It's probably one of the best IPR regimes, we have benchmarked it against USA and Japan now," the NITI Aayog CEO further stated.

Finland's Sanna Marin to become world's youngest Prime Minister

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Finland's Sanna Marin is set to become world's youngest Prime Minister at age of 34. Sanna will succeed Antti Rinne after he resigned as PM of Finland. Sanna will lead a centre-left coalition with four other parties, all headed by women, three of them are under 35. After taking oath, Sanna Marin will be the third female Prime Minister in the Nordic country. Sanna Marin was the transport minister of Finland since June. She became the MP at the age of 27.

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): The 68th edition of the Miss Universe pageant was held in Atlanta. Almost 90 contestants took part in the pageant from across the world. Contestants competed in swimsuit, evening gown and on-stage question rounds. Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi was crowned as Miss Universe 2019. MQM chief condemns 'brutal repression' by Pak military, crackdown against Mohajirs in Karachi

London (UK), December 09, 2019(ANI): Pakistan's military establishment has launched a crackdown against the Mohajirs in Karachi, prompting a strong condemnation from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, who slammed the country's armed forces for "unleashing terror" and their "brutal repression" on the community. The demonic inflictions by the Pakistani forces began two days earlier to the commemoration of Mohajir Martyrs' Day. The atrocities reached an all-time high on December 09, when a large number of men, women and children, and the elderly tried to reach the Mohajir Martyrs Monument situated in Azizabad, in the close vicinity of Hussain's residence. South Asian Games: India continues to lead the medal tally

Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 09 (ANI): India continued to lead the medal tally in the latest round of the 13th South Asian Games with a total of 252 medals. India on Sunday grabbed five gold, one silver and one bronze medal in Judo. In women's squash category, India clinched gold and a silver. In tennis mixed doubles, India entered the final after defeating Pakistan. India now has 132 gold, 79 silver and 41 bronze medals in the tournament. The host nation Nepal, which is in second of the list has collected 45 gold, 44 silver, and 76 bronze medals.

India increases lead in South Asian Games, crosses 200 medals

Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 08 (ANI): India has continued their lead in the medal tally by crossing 200 medals in the 13th edition of the ongoing South Asian Games on Saturday. India has so far bagged 110 gold medals and remained on top in the medal tally while Nepal trailing behind it has collected 43 gold medals. Along with gold, India has collected an additional of 69 silver and 35 bronze medals with a total of 214 medals. Nepal has so far grabbed 34 silver and 65 bronze medals in the regional sporting event with total medals of 142. With India trailing high with gold, the Indian players are aiming more in the South Asian extravaganza though it is marching towards a conclusion. In the swimming event, India has been bagging the majority of the medals. On Friday, India clinched 5 out of 7 medals. Apart from swimming, the Indian wrestlers won 8 gold, 4 each in women's and men's category along with the Indian shooters clinching all three titles of the day.

Indian Men's Volleyball team win gold in SAG

Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 04 (ANI): India defeated Pakistan in the final of the South Asian Games (SAG) 2019 in Male Category of Volleyball, thus clinching a goal medal. In a thrilling final, India crushed Pakistan by 3-1 which soared the temperature of the covered hall of Dashrath Stadium high, with excitement rising after every set. India were beaten by Pakistan in the first game by 20-25. However, India made a brilliant comeback and won back-to-back two games by 25-15 and 25-1. In the next game as well, India maintained their form and won. After securing the victory over arch-rival Pakistan, Team India Male Volleyball Head Coach, G. E Sridharan, said they will prepare and will qualify in the Olympics. Team India, Women's will clash in final of Volleyball with host nation Nepal. India had defeated Nepal in the group stage but Nepali girls had given them a tough fight.

Nepal declares 13th South Asian Games open with grandeur

Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 02 (ANI): Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari formally inaugurated the 13th edition of the South Asian Games (SAG) with grandeur and fanfare. The Nepali President declared the multi-sports event of SAARC open at the newly-constructed Dasarath stadium in the presence of about 30,000 people. The inaugural ceremony kicked off with a march by athletes from the SAARC countries -- India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The SAG's torch was brought to the stadium after it was toured in all seven countries. The ceremony saw a glittering performance of a troupe of 7,500 artists and students, who performed the traditional Lakhe dance, in the stadium, that was decked with lights, flowers, frills, and flags. Nepal set to inaugurate South Asian Games

Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 01 (ANI): 13th edition of South Asian Games will be inaugurated by Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari today. 10-day-long sporting event is expected to be inaugurated at 5 pm. Welcome gates for inaugural ceremony have been set in various locations around Kathmandu. Preparations for event are yet to be completed as infrastructural work at Dasaratha Rangasala Stadium was finished recently. Cleaning of premises is underway, whereas the stage is yet to be set-up for the VVIP's inauguration. Indian diaspora in UK holds candlelight march to pay tribute to victims of 26/11 terror attack

London (UK), Nov 27 (ANI): Members of the Indian diaspora in the UK took out a peaceful candlelight march in London on Tuesday to express solidarity with the victims of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The march, which saw the participation of around 400 people, commenced from Hyde Park Corner and ended at the Pakistan High Commission in London. The participants held placards and posters highlighting Pakistan's state-sponsored terrorism and its involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks.
