Sikh youth killed by unidentified person in Peshawar

Peshawar (Pakistan), Jan 06 (ANI): A Sikh youth was killed by unidentified person(s) in Peshawar. The body of the person was found in the Chamkani police station area of Peshawar Police said that the Sikh person was a resident of Shangla District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and had come to Peshawar to shop for a wedding. The family of the victim got to know about his death from a phone call by the unidentified assailant, suggesting that the incident could be a case of personal enmity. The dead body has been shifted to a hospital for postmortem.

Bolivia to hold new presidential election on May 03

New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): Bolivia will hold new presidential election on May 03, after the country's electoral tribunal announced previous election invalid. Previous elections were annulled following allegations of fraud and Bolivia's now-ousted President Evo Morales who was declared the winner last year in a widely disputed election. "Election tribunal is working to fix problems with vote counting and the computer system which the organization of American States had claimed", said Salvador Romero, president of the tribunal.

Violent mob outside Pakistan's Nankana Sahib dispersed after police releases abductor of Sikh girl

Punjab (Pakistan), Jan 04 (ANI): A large number of Muslims had gathered and shouted anti-Sikh slogans outside the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan's Punjab on January 03. Earlier in the day, stones were also pelted at the Gurdwara led by the family of a boy who had allegedly abducted a Sikh girl Jagjit Kaur, daughter of the Gurdwara's panthi. The protesters also threatened to destroy the gurdwara and build a mosque in its place. The violent mob later dispersed after the police released Hassan, the man who had allegedly abducted Jagjit Kaur.

Indians support CAA in Japan's Tokyo

Tokyo (Japan), Dec 28 (ANI): With ongoing discussions over CAA in India, some concerned Indians gathered in Tokyo to meet and educate the people about CAA and current position on NRC as well as NPR. Citizenship Act or any Constitutional article is indeed require some study to clearly understand its objectives and due procedure. Unfortunately, such complications are being misused by some anti-social elements to spread rumors and run negative propaganda. This sometime lead to the violent protests as we have seen last week in some parts of India. Keeping this in mind, some concerned Indians did a thorough study in recently enacted CAA, its historical background as well did some research on authenticate details of NRC and NPR. Nepal: Students and space enthusiast witness solar eclipse in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), Dec 26 (ANI): Students from various Nepali schools and varsities flocked Kathmandu's BP Koirala Memorial Planetarium, Observatory and Science Museum as the observatory had made special arrangements to view the solar eclipse through a telescope directly. Executive Director of the Observatory, Sanat Kumar Sharma said that the arrangements were made for directly witnessing the eclipse through solar filters-fitted telescope to support cultivating scientific conscience and culture among the public.The eclipse reached its median time at 10.01 a.m. in Kathmandu, at 9.52 a.m. in Mahendranagar and at 9.59 a.m. at Bhadrapur and ended by 11.33 am at these places. Similarly, Nepal Astronomical Society also facilitated observation of the solar eclipse through a telescope, available for the interested people at their office in Battisputali, Society President Suresh Bhattarai was quoted as saying. Japan gears up for New Year celebrations

Afghan forces kill over 100 terrorists in last 24 hours

New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI): Over 100 terrorists were neutralised and 45 others suffered injuries in operations conducted by the Afghan forces in the last 24 hours. The forces conducted 18 operations in 15 different provinces of Afghanistan. In these operations, around five terrorists were also arrested. "In the last 24 hours, 18 operations were conducted in 15 provinces of Afghanistan, as a result of which 109 terrorists were killed, 45 terrorists injured and 5 others were arrested," Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense tweeted. The ministry has not clarified whether the terrorists belonged to a single group.

New Zealand volcano eruption: Death toll rises to 19

New Delhi, Dec 23 (ANI): The death toll from New Zealand's White Island volcano eruption earlier in December has risen to 19, the police informed on December 23. Around 47 people visited the tourist destination of White Island when the volcano erupted. The disaster occurred on December 9, killing 13 initially and leaving more than two dozen hospitalized with severe burns. White Island, a volcanic island, is a famous tourist attraction which people can explore by boat or helicopter. But now all tourist trips to the island have been suspended by authorities.

'They're not after me, they are after you': Trump after getting impeached by US House

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): Just hours after US House of Representatives voted to impeach him, President Donald Trump tweeted, "They're not after me. They are after you". Trump was impeached on December 18 after the US House passed at least two articles of impeachment against him for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Geneva (Switzerland), Dec 19 (ANI): India's Permanent Representative to United Nations in Geneva Rajiv Chander, while speaking on Pakistan PM's statement at Global Refugee Forum said, "We categorically and unequivocally reject unwarranted and gratuitous comments made by Pakistan PM which only reflects visceral and pathological prejudice against India". He further added, "Pakistan is a self-proclaimed champion of human rights that has shrunk the size of its own minority community, 23% in 1947 to 3% today, by subjecting them to draconian blasphemy laws, systemic persecution, blatant abuse and forced conversions".
