On being asked which quality of Joshi impressed a lot to the selectors on the time of selection, BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee Member, RP Singh said, "Sunil's thoughts and his clarity impressed us a lot. He did a very good job in the past. Overall, we thought Sunil is perfect for this job." Sunil Joshi replaced MSK Prasad as the chairman of BCCI's selection committee.
