Salary cap of Rs 2 lakh removed for Indian coaches: Kiren Rijiju

New Delhi, Jul 07(ANI): Youth Affairs and Sports minister, Kiren Rijiju on hiring of Indian and foreign coaches said that coaches will be hired on a contractual basis of 4 yrs keeping in mind with the Olympic Games. He said, "Indian and foreign coaches will be hired on a contractual basis of 4 yrs keeping in mind with the Olympic Games. We have also removed a salary cap of Rs 2 lakh for Indian coaches. These decisions will bring stability in local coaching and training."

Kiren Rijiju joins office at SAI, says COVID-19 guidelines will be followed

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju joined office today at the Sports Authority of India. He said,"Only senior officials and minimum required staff will be coming to the office today onwards. We'll follow all guidelines regarding COVID19".

South African cricket team arrives in Kolkata

Kolkata (WB), Mar 16 (ANI): South African team will be soon leaving India from Kolkata. Proteas were in India for three-ODI series against India. First match at Dharamshala stadium was washed out. Second and third ODIs were cancelled over coronavirus outbreak.

Coronavirus: BCCI to assess situation every week, says Sourav Ganguly on IPL

Mumbai, Mar 14 (ANI): Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on March 14 said that the BCCI and government are both monitoring the situation it will be reassessed every week. Sourav Ganguly to chair BCCI IPL Governing Council Meeting over coronavirus

Mumbai, Mar 14(ANI): BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly, IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel, BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal and BCCI CEO Rahul Johri arrived at BCCI headquarters to attend the IPL Governing Council Meeting over coronavirus. Indian Premier League (IPL) council meeting will shortly begin. IPL which was supposed to start from March 29 has now been delayed to April 15 by the BCCI in fear of coronavirus.

Men in Blue, Proteas arrive in Lucknow ahead of 2nd ODI

Road Safety World Series 2020: Returned to field for noble cause, says Virender Sehwag

Mumbai, Mar 08 (ANI): After India Legends defeated West Indies Legends in Road Safety World Series on March 07, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag that returning to ground after almost 3 years was satisfying for him. When asked about the experience of hitting the ground after a long break, Sehwag said that the experience was tiring. He said, "We have played T-20 Cricket after a long time may be after 3 years. But it was satisfying also as we won the game. I was surprised that crowd came in and watched us so Thank you Mumbai crowd." He further added, "The match was good, after a long time we played together. This cause is wonderful as we don't have much awareness regarding road safety. Due to this cause we have all come back to the ground to play. If the cause wasn't his convincing, many would have refused. But it was fun. Old memories were revived."
