Post match, KXIP Head Coach Mike Hesson addressed mediapersons about runs scored, Chris Gayle and others. Hesson said, "It was good score when the bowl was hoarding to the wicket. I think the fact we looked to it really because we knew it getting harder as the bowl get older. And, to finish, we did 163 and it was a decent score. We didn't get the wickets we're hoping for. Shikhar (Dhawan) and Shreyas (Iyer) played low-risk crickets and they played well. I think Chris is very unique. With the power of Chris Gayle, you always back him to clear ground. He is the one who can take away from the opposition. Obviously, we kept losing wickets which made it difficult for him to push on."

We chased 187 runs against KKR. I think that is very important the way we bowled that super over under pressure that was the good thing. If you see the last two games, we were not doing well in the game. The positive thing about this game was, we did really well in the powerplay. There are some areas where we have to work. We have to give credit to the Mumbai Indians batsman for the way they batted. In last 4 overs, they got 58 runs. Hardik Pandya's inning was really crucial

The bowling we knew and the wickets. We bowled on second number and it helped. When Hardik was outside due to his injuries or because of some issues for 7-8 months, he worked on his fitness really well. And, Hardik is one such player whose priority is and will be cricket and I am saying it because I know him personally since childhood. What I like most about Hardik is his never giving up attitude."
