MS Dhoni turns 38, fans celebrate his birthday in Ranchi

Ranchi (Jharkhand), July 07 (ANI): 'Captain Cool' Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned 38 on Sunday. MS Dhoni remains one of the world's biggest cricket icons the game has ever known. In his state Jharkhand, members of a youth cricket club in Ranchi celebrated his birthday. Dhoni used his cricketing wits and smarts to help India win the 2011 ODI World Cup, 2007 T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy. No other man has captained his country to victory in all 3 ICC tournaments. He even led India to the number one ranking in both test and ODI formats. The players now hope of winning another World Cup as the Indian team has progressed to the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament. The team takes on New Zealand in the semi-final on July 9.

ICC WC 2019: Indian fans celebrate as 'men in blue' defeat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets

India beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets after centuries from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma took them over the line with 39 ball to spare. With the defeat, Sri Lanka ended their 2019 World Cup campaign at the sixth position. While speaking to ANI, Indian cricket fan said, "It was a historic match, I came especially from Mumbai to watch the match." "The players played extremely well in the match. Rohit Sharma came out to be the best", said a fan from Kanpur. While speaking to ANI, another fan from Delhi said, "The way India has been playing the matches till now, it seems India will end up winning the world cup".

The trophy weighs around 0.49 grams. He wished team India good luck for the rest of their tournament journey. While speaking to ANI, Nagaraj Revankar said, "As the cricket season is going on, I have created a World Cup trophy. People are quite happy after having a glimpse of the same. Kohli meets 87-year-old 'most passionate' fan, takes her blessings

New Delhi, July 03 (ANI): India Skipper Virat Kohli could not resist himself from meeting Charulata Patel, an 87-year-old Indian fan, and called her one of the most passionate and dedicated fans, he has ever seen or met. The 87-year old caught everyone's eye, when she was seen ardently cheering for the Indian Team, when the team was batting against Bangladesh during their World Cup on Tuesday. Kohli met Patel after the match and shared pictures with the fan on his Twitter handle. India went on to win the match as they defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs. With the victory, India have sealed their semi-final spot as they have now 13 points and consolidated their second position on the points table. India will now compete against Sri Lanka on July 6.

Maharashtra wins men's and women's title in National Wheelchair Basketball Championship

Mohali (Punjab), June 30 (ANI): Maharashtra secured the top spot in the 6th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship in both men's and women's categories here at Multipurpose Stadium in Mohali on Saturday. Union Sports Minister, Kiren Rijiju attended the event on the conclusion day. In the men's category, Maharashtra beat Punjab by 64-52 to win their sixth consecutive title.
