New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Actor Suniel Shetty has been appointed as brand ambassador of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). Speaking on his appointment, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju told that it is a contribution from Suniel Shetty. Kiren Rijiju said, "My idea is unless you create awareness, you can't prevent doping. Since I have taken Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, I realized that one of the important things for us to make sports clean and for that we are creating awareness and we are trying to take some innovative steps to ensure that athletes are given proper awareness as well as they are bound to top clean means of sports. So, we have appointed brand ambassador Suniel Shetty and it is purely honorarium and no money has been paid to him because he is willing and it is contribution from him." NADA is responsible for promoting, coordinating and monitoring doping control program in sports in all its forms in India.

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has been appointed as brand ambassador of National Anti Doping Agency. Shetty accepted his ambassadorship in presence of MoS for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju. Speaking on his ambassadorship, Suniel Shetty said, "It is a lot of responsibility but I am ready for it. I just don't want to be the face of it, I want to be involved and want to be there. It is honorary. For me, it's a feather in my cap." He further said, "First of all, my job would be to spread the awareness that no kind of drug will go unnoticed."

West Indies gearing up ahead of final T20 with India

Russia banned from Olympic Games for 4 years over doping

New Delhi, Dec 09 (ANI): The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on December 09 banned Russia from global sporting events which also include 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. WADA took the decision after accusing Moscow of falsifying data from an anti-doping laboratory. Executive committee of WADA took the decision after it concluded that Moscow had tampered with lab data by putting fake evidences and deleting files linked to positive doping tests that could have helped identify drug cheats. Under the sanctions, Russian athletes will still be allowed to compete at the Olympics next year only if the athletes can demonstrate that they were not part of what WADA believes was a state-sponsored system of doping.
