Panaji (Goa), Jan 21: Ahead of the Goa Assembly Elections, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on January 20 in Panaji said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is still in touch with Utpal Parrikar, and expressed his confidence towards forming government again in the state. Speaking to ANI, CM Sawant said, “Our central leaders are in touch with Utpal Parrikar. Delhi CM Kejriwal had said different things when Manohar Parrikar was CM and now he is saying different things for political gains. People of Goa understand this and will form BJP government again.” Goa Assembly Elections will be held on February 14.

"Sitting MLA has been given ticket from Panaji. Utpal Parrikar, former Goa CM Manohar Parrikar's son, and his family are our family. We gave two more options to him but he rejected first one, and the second option is being discussed with him," said BJP leader Fadnavis.

Patel also mentioned that despite efforts to form alliance with the Congress, talks had failed and now they have decided to contest separately.“We made an offer to Congress to jointly contest Goa polls, but in vain. Mumbai, Jan 19 (ANI): Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on January 19 reacted to Praful Patel’s statement on NCP-Congress alliance in Goa Assembly Elections, saying Congress’ position is good thus there is no need to unite with Shiv Sena and NCP. “The high command takes the decision on alliance. To stop BJP in Maharashtra, Sonia Gandhi helped them. In other states, the Congress situation is good so there is no need to form alliance with Shiv Sena and NCP,” said Nana Patole.
Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 19 (ANI): Ahead of this year’s Assembly Elections, the Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on January 18 in Prayagraj said that he will not support anyone in this year’s elections, and claimed that the recognition towards the farmers by the political parties is the biggest victory of the farmers' agitation. “Matters related to farmers and the organisation were discussed in 3-day brainstorming session. Dona Paula (Goa), Jan 19 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declared Amit Palekar as the party's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Goa Assembly Polls on January 19. While making the announcement, the party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that Amit Palekar is an advocate by profession and comes from the Bhandari community. Legislative Assembly Elections will be held in Goa on February 14, 2022 to elect 40 members of the Goa Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on March 10, 2022.
South Goa, Jan 19 (ANI): Senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Praful Patel on January 18 said that NCP and Congress party aren’t in talks regarding the upcoming Goa Assembly Elections when asked about their alliance. “Congress thinks it can fight the Goa Assembly elections on its own. It is up to them. We are not talking to them anymore. NCP and Shiv Sena will fight this election together. NCP will definitely win a few seats in Goa,” said NCP leader.
