Budget will revive growth, says finance secretary

New Delhi, July 12 (ANI): Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram while speaking at an interactive session in New Delhi on Saturday said the budget for the fiscal year 2014-2015 is growth oriented and will revive the economy. Mayaram defended Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's maiden budget that was presented in the parliament on Thursday holding that the government will maintain the fiscal deficit at the projected 4.1 percent of GDP (Gross Domestic Product). The President of Federation of Indian Chambers Of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Sidharth Birla, along with its members was also present at the event.

Sensex gains 400 points, Nifty stable at 7,700 as markets laud Modi's budget

Mumbai, July 10 (ANI): Post budget presentation, the markets have shown some cheer and recovered from the fluctuations. Sensex has recovered by 400 points at 25,681 points after an anxious free fall which led to other sectors witnessing fall. Meanwhile, nifty has also recovered and is stable above 7,700 points. The Sensex had fell by over 200 points as the budget speech began but recovered the losses as Arun Jaitley reached the end of his speech that lasted for two hours.

ISD facility for cross border traders in Kashmir

Poonch, July 09 (ANI): In order to boost LoC trade, the central government and the Kashmir government agreed to provide ISD calling facility to the traders of India and Pakistan for enhanced cross border communication between the nations. Custodian of Chakan Da Bagh Cross Loc Poonch, Bashir Ahmed Loan, said that the facility would allow traders to discuss issues and thus people from both sides would be benefited. The facility has also been hailed by the traders who feel that this would foster communication and benefit traders from both sides. Cross-LoC trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) was started in October 2008.

Market expert on Nifty hitting all-time high ahead of Budget; Sensex crossing 26000

New Delhi, July 7 (ANI): The BSE Sensex breached 26,000 to hit a record high on Monday ahead of an event-heavy week that will see the Narendra Modi government presenting its first budget. The NSE Nifty also maintained its record-breaking trend and gathered another 36.35 points, or 0.46 per cent, to hit a new all-time high of 7,787.95 points, surpassing its previous intra-day high of 7,758.00, touched in Friday's trade.

Market Expert hopes for positive upcoming budget from NDA govt

Bombay Stock Exchange halts trading due to network outage

Mumbai, July 3 (ANI): Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) halted trading on Thursday morning across all of its markets, including shares, currencies and indexes due to a network outage. Reportedly, all orders placed before the network outage would be cancelled. The exchange operator network service vendor HCL Technologies Ltd was working to resolve the issue. Stock Market Expert, Sunil Shah, said that the authorities are addressing the problem and have assured that trading will start soon.

Nasscom launches third phase of startup initiative mission

Bangalore, July 01 (ANI): The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) invited applications from startups as it commenced the third phase of its 10,000 start-ups initiative across the country. The 10,000 startups initiative, which is a national database of startups and identifies the areas of their operations, is a one-stop platform for all fresh entrepreneurs. Addressing a news conference in Bangalore Senior Director, NASSCOM 10,000 Startups initiative, Rajat Tandon said in first two phases at least 529 people were impacted. The association had earlier sent a 30-member representative delegation of software products and solutions to the Silicon Valley in the US for providing a global platform for young entrepreneurs.
