Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lt Governor VK Saxena for the suspension of free Yoga classes under the 'Dilli ki Yogshala' programme and asked who benefitted from the action. Kejriwal's remarks come on the back of Punjab's AAP-led government starting free Yoga classes in the state. Last year, the AAP dispensation in Delhi accused the BJP of "conspiring" to shut down the 'Dilli ki Yogshala' programme by pressuring officials. At the time, the Delhi government alleged that Saxena did not approve the programme's extension beyond October 31. Tweeting in Hindi, Kejriwal said, "When the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) ordered the Lt Governor to stop free Yoga classes in Delhi, we started them in Punjab. "In Delhi, 17,000 people used to do Yoga daily in the free classes of the Delhi government. Their Yoga was stopped. Who benefited from this? The one who works is bigger than the one who stops the work." Kejriwal launched the 'Dilli K

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said free yoga classes in the city will continue irrespective of the availability of funds for the scheme. The remark comes against the backdrop of issues surrounding the 'Dilli Ki Yogshala' scheme of the city government. "Stopping yoga (classes) is a sin, rest of the politics can go on," Kejriwal said in his address after felicitating yoga instructors at an event here. "But, we decided that we won't let the classes stop, whether funds come or not," he asserted. Sources in the government had earlier claimed that Lt Governor Saxena has not approved the extension of the scheme after October 31. However, L-G secretariat sources have claimed that the office has not received any file seeking permission for the extension of the programme beyond October 31. Hence, it was wrong to say that the LG has not approved the extension, they added. The Delhi chief minister had on November 1 announced that the free yoga classes being held by his gover
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that the free yoga classes being held by his government will not stop, while asserting that he will not let any work stop despite obstruction by the L-G and the BJP. Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal also showed the file of 'Dilli Ki Yogshala' scheme and said his deputy Manish Sisodia had signed it on October 26 and it would have been sent to the Lieutenant Governor the same day or the next day. Sisodia had said that the scheme would be discontinued from Tuesday since no decision had been taken by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on its continuation, in what could trigger a fresh confrontation between the AAP government and the L-G. Sources in the government had claimed on Monday that the L-G has not approved the extension of the scheme after October 31. Sources in the L-G secretariat had, however, said the L-G's office has not received any file seeking permission for the extension of the programme beyond October 31 and
