Over 50 million people of eligible population vaccinated in Rajasthan

Over 49 mn unutilised Covid-19 vaccine doses available with states, UTs

Over 4.90 crore balance and unutilised COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories to be administered, informed Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.The ministry said that 72,70,48,325 vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories so far through free of cost channel and through the direct state procurement category.Of the total vaccine provided, 4,90,36,525 balance and unutilised COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states/UTs to be administered. Japan passes 50% vaccination rate, may ease limits in November

Japan's government says more than 50 per cent of the population has been fully vaccinated. Japan's vaccine rollouts began in mid-February, months behind many wealthy countries due to its lengthy clinical testing requirement and approval process. Inoculations for elderly patients, which started in April, were also slowed by supply shortages of imported vaccines, but the pace picked up in late May and has since achieved 1 million doses per day. Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura, who is in charge of COVID-19 measures, told NHK public television's weekly talk show Sunday that about 60 per cent of the population is expected to be fully vaccinated by the end of September, on par with current levels in Europe. The government is studying a roadmap for easing restrictions around November when a large majority of the population is expected to be fully vaccinated. Guj records 21 Covid-19 cases, no deaths; over 0.55 mn get vaccine shots

Gujarat reported 21 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking its infection tally to 8,25,584, a health department official said on Friday evening. The state did not record any death on account of the pandemic during this period. The death toll thus remained unchanged at 10,082. Discharge of 13 persons took the recovery count to 8,15,344, leaving the state with 158 active cases of which five patients are on ventilator support. An official release said 5.18 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the state till now, including over 5.05 lakh on Friday. In neighbouring Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, the COVID-19 infection tally rose by one to reach 10,642, while the recovery count remained unchanged at 10,631, leaving the Union Territory, which has seen four deaths so far, with seven active cases.
