The BJP's emergence as the strong opponent to BRS has pushed the Congress to the third place
Alleging that the NDA government at the Centre shows step-motherly treatment towards Telangana, ruling BRS leader K T Rama Rao claimed his party is ready for early elections to the Parliament and the state assembly if the BJP dissolves the Lok Sabha, showing its willingness for polls ahead of schedule. The BJP-led government has not announced any new institution or funds to Telangana and not even delivered on the promises made to the state in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, he alleged. The NDA government waived off loans for its "corporate friends", he alleged. "...especially those in BJP in the state, they talk big. If they have guts, let them dissolve Parliament. Then, we can go for early polls together," he told reporters in Nizamabad on Saturday. "They say 'sab ka saath, sab ka vishwas'. But, their actions are 'sab kuch bakwas' (all rubbish). The value of rupee is moving towards the 'pathalam' (abyss), the debt is mounting towards the sky. Such is the situation prevailing

Because he (Modi) gives interviews to a select few. But, here (in Telangana) our Chief Minister conducts press conference with 300 to 350 journalists and answers the questions raised by reporters," she said. Stating that a leader should be transparent and responsible, Kavitha said the Prime Minister should be invited to 'Meet the Press' and added

TRS MLC K Kavitha on Thursday she and her party leaders who are currently under the radar of the central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate and CBI are ready to face any inquiry. She was reacting to reports that her name was mentioned in a remand report by the Enforcement Directorate as one of the accused in Delhi liquor scam case. "We state that we will face any kind of inquiry. If the agencies come and ask us questions we will certainly answer. But tarnishing leaders' images by giving selective leaks to the media, people will refute it," Kavitha said. She also dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep her and other leaders in jail by proving that they are guilty of any wrongdoings. TRS party workers gathered in large number at her residence expressing solidarity.

Relevant sections of IPC and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 were invoked against Ramachandra
The outcome of the keenly-watched "winner takes it all" Munugode bypoll in Telangana has seen the emergence of BJP as the runner up, relegating Congress to the third spot, but it may still not be an easy task for the saffron party to come to power in the state in next year's Assembly polls. In the bitterly-fought contest in last week, the ruling TRS on Sunday managed to scrape through with a 'meagre' margin of over 10,000 votes,. The BJP stood second, while the Congress lost the security deposit. BJP takes credit for having improved its votes in Munugode from a negligible number in 2018 to over 86,000 in the present byelection. For the first time, BJP got more than 30 per cent votes in South Telangana, political analyst and columnist Ramu Suravajjula said. Can BJP replicate its success in Munugode elsewhere in Telangana? Noted political analyst Telakapalli Ravi feels that the BJP still has a long way to go and feels bypoll result has reduced BJP's "hype" that it has "arrived."
The Election Commission (EC) has asked Telangana's chief electoral officer to keep a "close watch" on the Munugode Assembly constituency through "various enforcement agencies" ahead of the November 3 bypoll amid allegations of attempts to induce voters. The direction came after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate K Rajagopal Reddy transferred Rs 5.24 crore from his family-owned firm's account to 23 people and entities within the constituency. Responding to an EC letter, Reddy rejected the allegations made by the TRS, including any "formal relationship" with the firm. The BJP candidate, the EC letter said, also denied all 23 alleged bank transactions "categorically, one by one". "In view of the fact that the representation made by the TRS does not provide any proof in support of the allegations, which have been duly denied by the said candidate, you are directed to keep a close watch on the constituency through various enforcement .
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday refuted the allegations that the BJP was trying to lure legislators of the ruling TRS in Telangana into its fold, and demanded an inquiry by CBI or a sitting judge of the Supreme Court, into the whole episode. Speaking to Reporters on the TRS claims that the BJP was resorting to clandestine method to entice its legislators thus trying to destabilize the state government, Reddy said the imminent defeat in Munugode bypoll is haunting Kalvakuntla family ( Chief Minister k Chandrasekhar Rao's family). Calling it a 'big conspiracy' by TRS party, he alleged that they resorted to this kind of new game as their defeat is imminent in Munugode bypoll. If the TRS government has purity of mind, I request that the case be handed over to the CBI. I am asking whether the state government is ready for this? I am giving two options. Either you get it inquired by a Supreme Court sitting judge or hand over to the CBI as this case is an interstate issue. He .
BJP leader in Telangana, Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar on Sunday called on TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and expressed his keenness to join the ruling party. Bhaskar, who had served as Rajya Sabha member between 2012 and 2018 when he was in Congress, met Rao at Pragati Bhavan, the CM's camp office-cum-official residence here, TRS sources said late on Sunday night. Expressing disappointment over the NDA government at imposing GST on handloom products, Bhaskar told Rao that he cannot tolerate this as he belonged to a family which is into handlooms, they said. Bhaskar, a journalist by profession, informed Rao that he would quit BJP and join the TRS, they added. The former Rajya Sabha member had resigned from Congress and joined BJP in 2019. Bhaskar's meeting with Rao comes close on the heels of two leaders -- former Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud and Sravan Dasoju -- quitting BJP and joining the TRS.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's attempt to catapult the TRS party to the centre stage of national politics by renaming it is being watched by political pundits. Some see it as a move that could help increase his stature nationally, while others fear it could turn into a misadventure. In a politically-significant development in the regional political landscape, the two-decade-old Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was rechristened Wednesday as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), with an aim to establish KCR as a national leader. The name change resolution was passed by the party general body meeting in Hyderabad as party workers cheered and banners with slogans like "Desh ka neta KCR," "Dear India, he is coming", and "KCR is on the way" were prominently displayed around the venue of the meeting. Several analysts also surmise the idea as an exercise to fortify his party base in the state -- where the BJP is making inroads and intensifying political activity ahead of 2023 assemb
