Toyota Kirloskar Motor partners with Karnataka Bank for financing solutions

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Monday said it has partnered with Karnataka Bank to finance its vehicles across cities and towns in India. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Karnataka Bank, following which the bank will be one of the preferred financiers for the entire range of vehicles sold by TKM. The finance options at competitive interest rates will be available to customers, including those covered under priority sector schemes, for purchasing Toyota vehicles for private and commercial use, TKM said in a statement. Toyota Kirloskar drives in Innova Crysta Limited Edition at Rs 17.18 lakh

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Tuesday said it has launched Innova Crysta Limited Edition, priced between Rs 17.18 lakh and Rs 20.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The petrol trims are priced between Rs 17.18 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh while the diesel variants are tagged between Rs 18.99 lakh and Rs 20.35 lakh. The limited edition comes with various features like multi terrain monitor, head up display, tyre pressure monitoring system, wireless charger, door edge lighting and air ionizer. "Innova has undisputedly been the leader in the MPV segment since its launch, making it one of our flagship products...It has been our continuous endeavor to constantly upgrade our products in line with the evolving trends, mobility needs and customer preferences," TKM Associate General Manager (AGM), Sales and Strategic Marketing V Wiseline Sigamani said in a statement. The company has sold over 9 lakh Innova units in the country till date.

Automobile sales skid in May as coronavirus second wave bites hard

Major automobile manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors and Toyota Kirloskar on Tuesday reported decline in domestic passenger vehicle sales in May compared to the previous month as a spike in COVID-19 cases and lockdowns across various states hit production and dispatches. The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), which shut production from May 1 to May 16 so as to divert oxygen from industrial use for medical purposes, reported domestic dispatches to dealers at 35,293 units last month, down 75 per cent from 1,42,454 units in April. The company said sales of its mini cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, declined by 81 per cent to 4,760 units in May as against 25,041 units in April this year. Sales of compact segment vehicles, including Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, declined by 72 per cent to 20,343 units from 72,318 cars in April. Labour strike ends at Toyota Kirloskar Motor's Karnataka plant

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Tuesday said the labour strike at its Bidadi-based manufacturing plant in Karnataka has come to an end. In November last year, the automaker hadto declare a lockout at the facility following workers' union members resorting to a sit in strike at the factory premises to protest against the suspension of a worker. "The TKM Employee's Union has officially called off the ongoing labour strike...Although a majority of members from a total of 3,350 employees had already voluntarily resumed work earlier, the labour strike that has been continuing has now officially come to an end today," TKM said in a statement. The company said that the Karnataka government and the Department of Labour, played a crucial role in facilitating the reconciliation, between all parties.
