Srei Infra company secy resigns; 180 exits since Dec after salary caps

Equipment finance NBFC Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd on Saturday said its company secretary Sandeep Kumar Lakhotia has resigned. The move comes following the salary cap imposed on the company by its lenders amidst pandemic-induced stress on its business. The company, when contacted, said around 180 employees have exited since December last year. "We wish to inform you that Sandeep Kumar Lakhotia, Company Secretary of the company has resigned from the position of Company Secretary & Compliance Officer of the company," Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd said in a regulatory filing. Lakhotia will be relieved with effect from the close of working hours of 20th March, 2021, Srei said. "The company shall be shortly appointing a new Company Secretary & Compliance Officer and the same shall be intimated to the Stock Exchanges in due course," it said. The average stipend payouts for apprentices, which witnessed a positive growth in 2020 despite pandemic-related disruptions, are expected to rise over 3 per cent in 2021, according to a report. Despite the disruption caused by the pandemic, the average stipend payouts for apprentices had witnessed a growth in 2020 and this positivity is expected to continue even in 2021, according to the report titled 'Stipend Primer' by the National Employability Through Apprenticeship Programme (NETAP), a TeamLease Skills University. The average stipend payout is expected to witness more than 3 per cent rise this year, it added. 5 Delhi's Hindu Rao Hospital doctors begin hunger strike over salary dues

Five resident doctors of the North Corporation-run Hindu Rao Hospital here began an indefinite hunger strike on Friday over non-payment of salary for the past three months. The doctors, who sat in front of the hospital's main gate, said they have no other option as verbal assurances won't feed them. Members of the Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) of the Hindu Rao Hospital (HRH) have been protesting for the past several days and demanding the release of their salary for the last three months. "Five resident doctors of HRH have gone on a hunger strike starting today evening as our demands are not being heard," a senior official of the RDA said. Neel Chakra Sahu, one of the five doctors sitting on hunger strike, said, "Verbal assurances won't feed us, we need concrete actions. We have no other option but to do this." Average salary increment falls to 3.6% current fiscal, says survey

Companies doled out an average salary increment of 3.6 per cent in the current fiscal compared to 8.6 per cent in the previous financial year amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a survey. The survey by leading consultancy Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP showed that timing and potential impact of COVID-19 were the two most important factors that affected increments in 2020-21. "Organisations that had already decided their increments before the start of the lockdown in March 2020 have given a higher increment compared with others. Moreover, organisations expecting a decline of more than 20 per cent in revenue in FY 2020-21 due to COVID-19 have given much lower increments," the survey released on Monday said. A nationwide lockdown was imposed from March 25 to curb the spreading of coronavirus infections and in late May, authorities started to relax the restrictions.
