A 26-year-old man was killed in a scuffle that broke out in Pul Pehlad Pur area on Tuesday allegedly after another man made questionable comments about his daughter.Police said that an altercation took place between Rakesh and Krishna after the latter passed inappropriate comments about Rakesh's 3-year-old daughter. The neighbours of the duo were forced to intervene in the matter and sent them to their respective houses.After half an hour, police said Rakesh went to Krishna's house along with his wife Pooja and brother Mukesh. A scuffle then broke out between Rakesh, Krishna and his brother Ranjeet.The deceased's wife stated that Ranjeet and Krishna assaulted Rakesh with a sharp object during the brawl, after which he was rushed to Majidiya Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.A case has been registered at Pul Prahladpur Police Station and Ranjeet and Krishna have been arrested.
A man was killed allegedly by his neighbours after he opposed to their objectionable remarks against his three-year-old daughter in southeast Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area on Tuesday, police said. A scuffle broke out between Rakesh and Krishna following a heated argument over the objectionable remarks against the former's daughter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said. Other people in the neighbourhood intervened in the matter and separated the two , he said. After half-an-hour, Rakesh, along with his wife Pooja and brother Mukesh, reached outside Krishna's house, the DSP said. Pooja told police that Krishna and his brother Ranjeet attacked her husband with a sharp object, he said. Rakesh's family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment, Biswal said. A case was registered in the matter and Ranjeet and Krishna were arrested, police he added.

Jama Masjid Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari made the announcement after a meeting of the moon-sighting committee here. "The moon was sighted today. That means Eid will be celebrated on Wednesday in Delhi and other parts of the country," a senior official at the city's historic mosque told PTI. Eid-ul-Fitr symbolises peace and brotherhood. The festival is marked with feasts and the faithful offers prayers at mosques and idgahs to seek blessings of the divine. Pakistan's Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has hit out at clerics for trying to detach science from religion, saying the religious leaders must use "common sense" when it comes to sighting the moon to determine Eid-ul-Fitr. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu Tuesday offered prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here.
