Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Centre is committed to ensuring a regular supply of water for drinking and irrigation purposes in the 13 districts of eastern Rajasthan. He said a draft plan for a major project, combining the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) and the old Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal link, has been shared by the Centre with the governments of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. "The draft has been included in the list of priority-based projects by the special committee on rivers. The Centre will definitely think of advancing it when the governments of both the states agree on it," Modi said at a public rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan's Dausa district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated a 246-km section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa. The PM pressed the button of a remote to mark the opening of the Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section. Rajasthan Budget: CM announces inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced an inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore in the state's Budget for 2023-24 to provide relief to the masses from rising prices. The package includes free food packets every month to poor families, LPG cylinders for Rs 500 under the Ujjwala Scheme and free electricity up to 100 units per month to domestic consumers. Gehlot, who also holds the finance portfolio, announced to increase the coverage amount from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh annually per family in his ambitious Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana. "I announce to give free Chief Minister Annapurna food packets every month along with free ration to about one crore families coming under the purview of the National Food Security Act," he said. Gehlot says Khattar's remarks on Rajasthan's OPS 'factually incorrect'

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said his Haryana counterpart's reported remarks on his government having withdrawn the old pension scheme was "factually incorrect". In a statement in Hindi posted on Twitter, Gehlot said the old pension scheme (OPS) was implemented in Rajasthan from April 1, 2022 and 621 employees who retired after coming into service after 2004 have been given its benefit. In an apparent rebuttal to his former deputy, Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said the Congress returned to power in 2018 because of the work done by him in his previous dispensation. As he said this, he set the target of winning 156 seats in the assembly election due later this year. Light rain triggered by a western disturbance occurred in isolated areas of eastern Rajasthan, the Met office here said on Tuesday. Vair in Bharatpur received the maximum precipitation at 21 mm during the last 24 hours. Roopwas received 17 mm rain and Gangapur and Bayana received 11 mm each. Other areas of Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dholpur also received light rain during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, the Met office said. Night temperatures also increased in many parts of the state. It was appreciably above normal in Jaipur division, above normal in Kota division and normal in the state's other divisions. The lowest temperature was recorded in Bikaner at 5.6 degrees Celsius. The weather remained cloudy in many areas and dense to very dense fog occurred at isolated places in the morning.

Rajasthan govt signs agreements for investment worth Rs 1.36 trillion

The Rajasthan government on Monday signed agreements for investment worth Rs 1.36 lakh crore in the state. The investment was committed under Invest Rajasthan, which was held in October last year. Agreements of 26 projects related to industires, energy, tourism and other sectors were signed at the chief minister's residence. Nearly 17,000 people will get employment from these projects being set up in different districts of the state, according to a statement. Chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on the occasion that the policies of the state government have facilitated the process of setting up industries in the state. "The condition of law and order, road infrastructure, electricity etc is quite good in the state.
