BJP to observe 4th anniversary of Congress govt in Rajasthan as 'Black Day'

The BJP in Rajasthan will observe the fourth anniversary of the Congress government on December 17 as 'Black Day' and hold demonstrations in the state's 200 assembly constituencies and district headquarters from next month. The state unit of the BJP has also planned a state-level protest and 'jan aakrosh rally' here in December. The party will hold protests against the state government in November and December, BJP's national general secretary and Rajasthan in-charge Arun Singh said. It will also issue a "black paper" against the alleged failures of the government in its four-year rule. Another BJP leader said that the party has set a target of two to three lakh people for the 'jan aakrosh rally' for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and other central ministers will be invited.

To ensure quality of food at 'Indira Rasoi', Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to all the public representatives to eat there at least once a month, saying this will also increase their connect with the people. Under the scheme, food is served at Rs 8 per plate. "To maintain the quality of food and better monitor the scheme, which provides fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals for Rs 8, I appeal to the MPs, MLAs, mayors, chairmen, councillors, and all other public representatives to have food at Indira Rasoi at least once every month," Gehlot said. SC raps Rajasthan govt over ex-gratia compensation for state's Covid deaths

The Supreme Court on Monday rapped the Rajasthan government over its "unsatisfactory" affidavit enumerating steps on payment of ex-gratia to family members of those who died of COVID-19, and said it was not doing any charity. A bench of Justices M R Shah and Krishna Murari directed the state government to file a detailed affidavit in the matter. "Earlier also you had made an assurance. State of Rajasthan is not doing any charity. There is a direction issued by this court and persons affected by COVID-19 should be treated with sympathy. Richest Asian Gautam Adani on Friday announced a Rs 65,000 crore investment in Rajasthan over the next 5 to 7 years in setting up a mega 10,000 MW solar power capacity, expanding cement plant and upgrading Jaipur airport. The investment by ports-to-energy conglomerate that Adani heads also spans city gas infrastructure for retailing CNG to automobiles and piped gas to households and industries as well as laying transmission lines to carry renewable power. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday pitched the state as a favourable investment destination that has friendly government policies, excellent road infrastructure, skilled labour, as well as better law and order. 201 RAS officers transferred under administrative reshuffle in Rajasthan

In a major administrative reshuffle, 201 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers were transferred in the state on Wednesday. The department of personnel issued the transfer list which included several sub divisional officers. Lalaram Gugarwal, member of board of revenue Ajmer, was made special assistant to the industry minister while Rajendra Kumar Verma, registrar of Rajasthan civil services appellate authority, was posted as additional director of social justice and empowerment department. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot hints at early Budget for poll-bound state

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday hinted that next year's state Budget might come earlier than usual. He said the government wanted no delays as parties would go into election mode after the Budget. "Budgets do come in February-March also. Rajasthan govt signs 4,192 MoUs, LoIs of Rs 10.4 trn ahead of summit

As many as 4,192 memoranda of understanding and letters of intent (LoI) involving investment commitment of Rs 10.44 lakh crore in the state have been signed ahead of the Invest Rajasthan summit which is starting from October 7. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the theme of the two-day summit is 'Committed. Delivered' in which nearly 3,000 delegates from the country and abroad will take part.
