JB Chemicals & Pharma Q2 PAT up 13% to Rs 111 cr; revenue at Rs 809 cr

JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has reported 13 per cent rise in profit after tax at Rs 111 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The drug firm had logged a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 98 crore in July-September period of previous fiscal year. Revenue rose to Rs 809 crore in the period under review as compared with Rs 593 crore in the year-ago quarter, it said in a statement. "Our market-beating performance in domestic business was sustained through growth in our organic portfolio, with big brands getting bigger; and significant demand acceleration in acquired brands which have seamlessly transitioned in a short period," company CEO and Wholetime Director Nikhil Chopra said. ABB India net up 69% to Rs 203 cr in July-Sept quarter on higher revenues

Electrification and automation major ABB India on Friday posted a 69 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 203 crore in the September quarter, aided by higher revenues and a one-off gain. The consolidated net profit of the company stood at Rs 120 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2021. "Profit after tax reported at Rs 203 crores, a growth of 69 per cent over Q3 2021 (July-September 2021) driven by solid execution after considering a one-time extraordinary gain (Rs 46 Crores) on the final divestment of the turbo charger business," a company statement said. The company follows the January to December financial year. Its revenues rose to Rs 2,120 crore in the quarter from Rs 1,778 crore in the same period a year ago. Total orders for the quarter were at Rs 2,634 crore as compared to Rs 1,909 crore in Q3 2021 (July-September 2021), a growth of 38 per cent. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Q2 PAT rises marginally to Rs 279 crore

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals on Friday said its profit after tax (PAT) rose marginally to Rs 279 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The Mumbai-based drug firm had reported a PAT of Rs 275 crore in the July-September period of the previous fiscal. Consolidated revenue rose to Rs 3,375 crore in the period under review as against Rs 3,147 crore in the year-ago quarter, Glenmark Pharma said in a regulatory filing. "We delivered yet another quarter of consistent growth, with our relentless focus on launching differentiated products in our core therapeutic areas," Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Chairman and Managing Director Glenn Saldanha said. The company's domestic business recorded strong double-digit growth and Europe business also performed very well in spite of a challenging macro-economic environment, he added. "We look forward to launching new products across markets and building global scale in our respiratory portfolio," Saldanha said.

ITI Limited Q2 loss widens to Rs 100 cr, revenue plunges 44% to Rs 197 cr

State-owned telecom gear maker ITI Limited on Friday reported widening of its consolidated net loss to over Rs 100 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The company had posted a loss of Rs 55.8 crore in the same period a year ago. The revenue from operations of ITI plunged by about 44 per cent to Rs 197.55 crore during the reported quarter from Rs 352.49 crore in the year ago period. According to the auditor's note, the company had to bear the financial burden of granting a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) to employees in 2019-20 after the Department of Telecommunications refused to accept the proposal of granting VRS on medical grounds. The auditor note said that the ITI has not made any provision for credit losses amount to Rs 96.1 crore under trade receivables comprising Rs 58.47 crore from C-DoT, Rs 16.9 crore from HCL Infosystems, Rs 10.49 crore from HFCL and Rs 10.23 crore from Mind Array, which are doubtful recoveries.

Ircon International Ltd on Friday reported a 38.3 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 174.18 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2022. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 125.94 crore in the year-ago period, Ircon International said in a filing to BSE. The consolidated income of the company during the second quarter increased to Rs 2,305.87 crore from Rs 1,582.67 crore in the year-ago period. Ircon International is a government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Railways.

Alembic Pharma Q2 net profit dips 19% to Rs 133 crore on higher expenses

Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Friday said its consolidated net profit declined by 19 per cent to Rs 133 crore for the second quarter ended September 2022 on account of higher expenses. The drug maker had reported a net profit of Rs 164 crore in the July-September period of last fiscal. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,475 crore in the September quarter as against Rs 1,292 crore in the year-ago period, Alembic Pharmaceuticals said in a regulatory filing. Expenses during the period under review stood at Rs 509 crore as compared to Rs 428 crore earlier. "It was a satisfactory quarter led by growth in all the verticals of the company, in particular the API business outperformed with a 23 per cent growth during the quarter," Alembic Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Pranav Amin said in a regulatory filing. Shares of the company on Friday ended 3.68 per cent up at Rs 638.75 apiece on the BSE.

GMR Power And Urban Infra Ltd on Friday reported a more than four-fold rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,082.70 crore for the quarter ended September. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 248.95 crore in the year-ago period, GMR Power And Urban Infra said in a filing to BSE. The consolidated income of the company during the second quarter of the current fiscal increased to Rs 1,626.90 crore compared to Rs 1,086.44 crore in the year-ago period. However, on a standalone basis, the company reported a loss of Rs 46.40 crore in the latest September quarter. It had posted a standalone profit of Rs 509.30 crore in the year-ago period. The company is into the business of engineering, procurement and construction.

NLC India reports 111.6% rise in Q2 profit to Rs 417 cr on higher revenues

State-owned NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) on Friday reported a 111.6 per cent increase in its consolidated profit at Rs 417.03 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2022, due to higher revenue from operations. The company had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 197.02 crore in the year-ago period, NLC India said in a filing to BSE. The consolidated revenue from operations of the public sector unit in the July-September period increased to Rs 3,489.28 crore from Rs 3,093.80 crore in the year-ago period. NLCIL is a navratna company under the administrative control of the coal ministry.
