SJVN Q2 net profit rises 10% to Rs 445 cr, income dips to Rs 916 cr

State-owned SJVN on Friday posted a 10 per cent year-on-year rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 445.44 crore in the September 2022 quarter. Its consolidated net profit was Rs 404.72 crore in the year-ago quarter, a BSE filing showed. Its total income dipped to Rs 916.25 crore in the quarter from Rs 925.56 crore a year ago.

BHEL posts Rs 12.10 cr Q2 net on higher revenues, income up to Rs 5,418 cr

State-owned engineering firm on Friday reported a Rs 12.10 crore consolidated net profit in the September 2022 quarter on higher revenues. The company had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 46.58 crore in the quarter ended September 30, a BSE filing showed. Its total income rose to Rs 5,418.74 crore in the quarter from Rs 5,197.25 crore a year ago.

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers registers Q2 net profit at Rs 111.75 crore

State-run Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd has reported net profit at Rs 111.75 crore for the July-September 2022 quarter, the company said on Friday. The city-based company had registered net profit at Rs 4.74 crore during the corresponding quarter in the previous year. For the half year ending September 30, 2022, the net profit of the company stood at Rs 172.15 crore as against a net loss at Rs 9.03 crore registered during the same period last year. Total income from operations during the quarter under review surged to Rs 1,378.54 crore from Rs 929.80 crore registered during the corresponding period last year. For the six-month period ending September 30, 2022, the total income from operations surged to Rs 2,506.83 crore from Rs 1,561.75 crore registered in same period last year, the company further said.

Adani Power records Q2 net profit of Rs 696 cr on higher one-time income

Adani Power on Friday posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 696 crore for September quarter 2022-23, mainly due to higher one-time income. In the year-ago period, it incurred a net loss of Rs 231 crore, a company statement said. Total income was 52 per cent higher at Rs 8,446 crore as against Rs 5,572 crore in September quarter 2021-22. The increase in revenue was aided by improved tariffs under long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) on account of higher prices of imported coal as well as improved merchant/short-term tariffs due to more demand. Revenue in the quarter includes one-time income of Rs 912 crore, primarily in the form of higher other income on account of late payment surcharge, it said. In comparison, income in the second quarter of 2021-22 included one-time revenue recognition of Rs 141 crore, it stated. RCap swings to black with Q2 net of Rs 215 cr, income grows to Rs 6,046 cr

Reliance Capital (RCap), which is undergoing insolvency process, on Friday swung back to the black and posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 215.23 crore for the quarter ended September 2022. The non-banking finance company had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 1,115.56 crore in the year ago quarter ended September 2021. Also, there was a net loss of Rs 491.40 crore in the preceding quarter ended June 2022. The profit before tax stood at Rs 289.74 crore for the reported quarter, while there was a loss before tax of Rs 1,114.52 crore in the year-ago quarter. However, for the half year from April-September period of the current fiscal, the debt-ridden company remained in the red with net loss of Rs 276.17 crore. But the loss was trimmed against Rs 2,161.80 crore registered in the first half of 2021-22. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 8,054.74 crore in fiscal ended March 2022. The company's total income during July-September quarter of this fiscal year grew to Rs 6,046.65

Jet Airways posts Rs 308 cr Q2 net loss, expenses rise to Rs 321 cr

Jet Airways, which is grounded for more than three years, on Friday reported a standalone net loss of Rs 308.24 crore in the three months ended September. The airline had reported a net loss of Rs 305.76 crore in the same period a year ago, according to a regulatory filing. Through the corporate insolvency resolution process, the Jalan Fritsch consortium emerged as the winning bidder for the airline after the the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the consortium's resolution plan in June last year. However, the carrier is yet to resume operations. In the second quarter of the current fiscal, Jet Airways saw its total income plunge to Rs 13.52 crore from Rs 45.01 crore in the year-ago period. Hindalco Industries Q2 net falls 35% to Rs 2,205 cr on elevated input costs

Hindalco Industries Ltd on Friday reported 35.4 per cent decline in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 2,205 crore for the quarter ended September mainly due to elevated input costs. The company, part of the Aditya Birla Group, had posted a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 3,417 crore in the year-ago period, Hindalco Industries said in a filing to BSE. However, the consolidated revenue from operations in the second quarter of the current fiscal increased to Rs 56,176 crore from Rs 47,665 crore in the year-ago period. "Hindalco Industries... reported consolidated revenue of Rs 56,176 crore in Q2 FY23, an increase of 18 per cent Y-o-Y, driven by higher volumes and better realisations," the company said in a statement. GVK Power net profit falls manifold to Rs 153.87 crore in Sep qtr

GVK Power and Infrastructure Limited (GPIL) on Friday posted a multifold fall in its consolidated net profit to Rs 153.87 crore during the September 2022 quarter due to higher expenses. Its profit was Rs 2,395.01 crore in the July-September period of the preceding 2021-22 fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing. The company's total income increased to Rs 1,012.05 crore from Rs 93.71 crore in the year-ago period. Expenses soared to Rs 840.10 crore against Rs 182.24 crore a year ago. Mahindra & Mahindra September quarter profit up 44% at Rs 2,773 crore

Homegrown diversified group Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday reported 44 per cent increase in consolidated profit at Rs 2,773 crore for September quarter, boosted by robust sales across business verticals. The group had logged a net profit of Rs 1,929 crore in July-September last fiscal year, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations during the quarter under review rose to Rs 29,870 crore from Rs 21,470 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Capacit'e Infraprojects has reported a 15 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 22 crore during the September 2022 quarter on higher revenues. Ashok Leyland Q2 net profit increases to Rs 199 cr as sales improve

Hinduja group flagship Ashok Leyland has reported a profit after tax of Rs 199 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, aided by robust sales across segments. It had posted a net loss of Rs 83 crore in the September 2021 quarter, the commercial vehicle major stated in a late-night regulatory filing on Thursday.
