12 PSBs report 50% jump in combined Q2 net profit at Rs 25,685 crore: FM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said the government's efforts to reduce bad loans are yielding result with 12 public sector banks reporting a 50 per cent jump in combined net profit at Rs 25,685 crore in the second quarter ended September. In the first half of FY23, the cumulative net profit of all public sector banks (PSBs) increased by 32 per cent to Rs 40,991 crore. During the second quarter, the SBI reported the highest-ever profit of Rs 13,265 crore. On year-on-year basis, this was 74 per cent higher than the same quarter a year ago. "The continuous efforts of our govt for reducing the NPAs and further strengthening the health of PSBs are now showing tangible results. All 12 PSBs declared net profit of Rs 25,685 cr in Q2FY23 & total Rs 40,991 cr in H1FY23, up by 50% & 31.6%, respectively (y-o-y)," Sitharaman said in a tweet. Coal India Q2 profit rises 106% to Rs 6,044 crore, net sales up 29%

Coal India Ltd on Monday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 6,044 crore for the second quarter ended September 2022, a jump of 106 per cent over the corresponding quarter profit of Rs 2,932 crore registered last year. The miner registered net sales of Rs 27,538 crore for the quarter under review, a rise of 29 per cent in the same quarter of the previous year's net revenue of Rs 21,292 crore. Higher demand for coal due to global shortage has helped better auction realisations. On a sequential basis, the net profit declined from Rs 8,834 crore in the previous June quarter (Q1 FY23). The total expense during the quarter was Rs 23,770 crore while it was Rs 20,424 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY22. The dry fuel miner sold 10.36 million tonnes through e-auctions in the September quarter with an average realisation of Rs 6,061 per tonne. Regulated sales stood at 141.64 million tonnes. Sintex Industries Q2 net loss widens to Rs 278 crore, expenses surge 23%

Textiles maker Sintex Industries on Monday reported widening of consolidated net loss to Rs 277.93 crore for September quarter 2022-23. The company had incurred a net loss of Rs 181.92 crore during July-September period a year ago, Sintex Industries said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations was up at Rs 692.16 crore from Rs 614.87 crore in the year-ago period. Total expenses were at Rs 1,003.92 crore, higher by 23.03 per cent from the year-ago quarter. Sintex Industries is going through an insolvency resolution process. Its lenders have approved the resolution plan (RP) submitted by Reliance Industries jointly with Assets Care & Reconstruction Enterprise on March 19, 2022. The interim resolution professional (IRP) has submitted the RP before the Ahmedabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for its approval. "As on date, approval of the resolution plan is pending before NCLT Ahmedabad," Sintex Industries said.

Brookfield India REIT Q2 net operating income rises 48% to Rs 241 crore

Brookfield India Real Estate Trust on Monday reported a 48 per cent rise in its net operating income to Rs 241.3 crore for the quarter ended September 30 and announced a distribution of Rs 170.89 crore to unitholders. Its net operating income (NOI) stood at Rs 162.8 crore in the year-ago period. In a regulatory filing, Brookfield India Real Estate Trust informed that the company has declared a distribution of Rs 170.89 crore or Rs 5.10 per unit for the quarter ended September 30, 2022. This takes the total payout this fiscal so far to Rs 10.20 per unit, which is in line with its guidance, the company said in a statement. Its net profit fell to Rs 26.71 crore during the July-September quarter from Rs 68.28 crore in the year-ago period. The total income rose to Rs 311.64 crore from Rs 214.80 crore. Aditya Birla Capital Q2 profit rises 30% to Rs 488 cr, revenue up 21%

Aditya Birla Capital on Monday reported its highest-ever quarterly profit at Rs 488 crore on a consolidated basis for the quarter ended September 2022, up by 30 per cent from a year ago, led by growth momentum across businesses. It had posted a net profit of Rs 377 crore in the same period a year ago. The total consolidated revenue of the company grew by 21 per cent to Rs 7,210 crore in the July-September period of 2022-23 from Rs 5,970 crore earlier, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL) said in a release. The strong momentum across businesses led to a 31 per cent year-on-year growth in the overall lending book (NBFC and housing finance) to Rs 77,430 crore and a 24 per cent year-on-year growth in the gross premium (life and health insurance) to Rs 4,394 crore, ABCL said. Divi's Lab Q2 net profit dips 18% to Rs 494 cr, revenue down to Rs 1,854 cr

Divi's Laboratories on Monday said its consolidated net profit declined by 18 per cent to Rs 494 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. The drug firm had reported a net profit of Rs 606 crore in the July-September period of last fiscal. Revenue from operations declined to Rs 1,854 crore in the September quarter as against Rs 1,987 crore in the year-ago period.
