Under Modi, BJP has emerged as an organisation serving humanity: Nadda

Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the BJP has emerged as an organisation working for humanity, party president J P Nadda said on Saturday as he inaugurated various welfare programmes to mark the prime minister's birthday. The BJP president inaugurated an exhibition, a blood donation drive and other programmes at the party headquarters here. BJP workers are celebrating Modi's birthday by organising a 'Seva Pakhwada' (service fortnight), Nadda said. As part of the fortnight, the party is distributing equipment among differently-abled people, promoting khadi products and organising free health check-up camps. Prime Minister Modi's life is dedicated to human service and therefore, the BJP organises 'Seva Pakhwada' to mark his birthday. Under his leadership, the BJP has emerged as an organisation serving humanity and not merely a political party, Nadda told reporters. The BJP will also organise cleanliness drives, exhibitions showing everything about the PM's life from his childho

Govt leaving no stone unturned to realise dream of a New India: Rajnath

The Narendra Modi government is leaving no stone unturned to realise the "dream of a New India" that is not dependent on any country to fulfill its needs, especially those related to security, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday. During an event here, he also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' is "making India one of the strongest and most respected countries in the world" and exuded confidence that the country will achieve the target of Rs 1.75 lakh crore of defence production by 2025. Underlining the steps taken by the defence ministry to achieve 'Aatmanirbharta' (self-reliance) in defence, Singh said, "The issuance of three positive indigenisation lists of 310 items as well as encouraging the private sector to become a part of the nation's growth story is testament to the government's unwavering commitment to provide the armed forces with indigenously developed state-of-the-art weapons and platforms, and equip them to deal with all future

Modi govt destroying economy with its cluelessness, incompetence: Congress

The Congress on Friday hit out at the Union government alleging India's growth story is being pushed back due to the inept handling of the economy and cluelessness on the part of the Modi government. It also asked the government whether it will now go back on its promises of making the country a USD 5 trillion economy, doubling farmers' income, and providing pucca houses to all by 2022. "It is evident now that the BJP government due to its inept handling of the economy, no focus, and cluelessness, is pushing the Indian growth story back," Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh said at a press conference. Citing the GDP growth numbers, he said India has seen a growth of only 3 per cent in the last three years and accused the government of "destroying" the Indian economy. "These are highly worrying numbers, with prospects not looking very bright due to inaction by the Modi government. Even SBI had a downward growth forecast for FY23 from 7.5 percent to 6.8 percent," he said, noting tha

Bihar CM Nitish shares stage with Telangana CM, lashes out at Modi govt

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Wednesday lashed out at the Narendra Modi government in the Centre and criticised its excessive prachaar-prasaar (publicity) besides its alleged lack of sensitivity towards the needs of the states. Addressing a function here alongside K Chandrasekhar Rao, his Telangana counterpart, Kumar took a veiled dig at BJP which has undertaken an aggressive campaign to expand its base in the southern state. Your adversaries speak a lot against you. Little do they realize what stuff you are made of. You were the one whose single-minded struggle led to the creation of Telangana. The people will never desert you, Kumar, the de facto leader of the JD(U), said. His teaming with 'KCR', as Rao is popularly called, is being seen as an important step in the direction of achieving opposition unity. Kumar's speech was preceded by KCR giving cheques of Rs 10 lakh each to five soldiers from the state who were killed in the stand-off with Chinese troops in Galwan valley o

Govt strengthened probe agencies as part of zero tolerance policy: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the Narendra Modi government took all efforts to strengthen probe agencies such as the NIA and anti-terror laws in line with its policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. The National Investigation Agency will have branches in all the states by May 2024, he said. The home minister was speaking at the inauguration of the office building of the NIA's Raipur branch in Atal Nagar area of Nava Raipur. The Modi government has adopted zero tolerance policy against Left Wing Extremism, terrorism and other related crimes including fake currency and narcotics, and therefore we left no stone unturned to strengthen the NIA, he said.
