Mahindra Thar clocks cumulative bookings of 75k units in one year of launch

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Monday said its SUV Thar has crossed 75,000 cumulative bookings mark in one year of its launch in the country. The all-new Thar continued its relentless march to automotive folklore and clocked 75,000 bookings just a year after its launch on Mahindra Group's 75th Anniversary on October 2, 2020, the automaker said in a statement. It has breached the traditional boundaries set by off-roaders and invaded into the dreams of metro-based young, urban buyers who are looking for an authentic yet sophisticated SUV experience, it added. The company noted that 40 per cent of the bookings of the model have come from millennials. "Another interesting fact is that almost 50 per cent of the bookings are for the automatic variant and 25 per cent of the total bookings are for the petrol variant," it added. Mahindra reports 7% decline in September tractor sales

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Friday reported a 7 per cent year-on-year decline in tractor sales to 40,331 units in September. The tractor manufacturer had sold a total of 43,386 units for the same period last year, a release said. The domestic sales in the previous month declined 8 per cent to 39,053 units, as against 42,361 units a year ago, Mahindra said. Exports in September, however, rose 25 per cent to 1,278 units as compared to 1,025 units in the same period last year. With initial crop production estimates indicating highest ever Kharif Crop, coupled with the upcoming festive season, we are optimistic of strong demand in the coming months. In the exports market, we have sold 1,278 tractors with a growth of 25 per cent over last year, said Hemant Sikka, President for Farm Equipment Sector at M&M Ltd. Mahindra & Mahindra to open bookings for XUV700 from October 7

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Thursday announced the opening of bookings for its premium sports utility vehicle XUV700 from October 7. The XUV700 will come in variants including diesel and gasoline, manual and automatic options and with 5 and 7-seater capacity. It will also be available in an optional All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) spec. The bookings for XUV700 will commence from October 7 onwards, M&M said in a release. The automaker, however, has not announced the date for commencement of the deliveries. The company is offering XUV700 in two series - MX and AdrenoX (AX). The AdrenoX series is further classified into three variants - AX3, AX5 and AX7. The complete variant line-up aims at straddling a wide spectrum of buyers, starting at Rs 11.99 lakh for the MX series (MT, petrol, 5-Seater) and Rs 13.99 lakh for the AX series (MT, petrol, 5-Seater), it said, adding that all prices will be applicable for the first 25,000 bookings. Mahindra recalls 1,577 units of diesel Thar to replace faulty engine part

Utility vehicles major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Thursday said it is recalling 1,577 units of its SUV Thar with diesel powertrain to replace faulty camshaft, an engine part. The Mumbai-based auto major said it would undertake proactive inspection and replacement of camshaft on a batch of 1,577 units of Thar diesel variants, manufactured between September 7 and December 25, 2020. "A machine setting error at the supplier's plant, on specific dates, may have affected camshafts in some engines of the diesel Thar," M&M said in a regulatory filing. Keeping with the company's stringent quality standards and exercising abundant caution, it has proactively engaged in this limited recall and offered inspection and subsequent rectification, free of cost, the automaker noted. Mahindra introduces XUV300 with new petrol automatic transmission

Automaker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Tuesday said it has launched compact SUV XUV 300 with automatic transmission. The company has introduced Petrol AutoSHIFT, its auto transmission technology, on the top variant of the model, the Mumbai-based automaker said in a statement. The trim will also come equipped with the all-new BlueSense Plus connected technology, it added. M&M further said the electric sunroof on the model will now be offered from mid variant onwards on both manual and automatic versions. "Today, we launch our innovative auto transmission AutoSHIFT on petrol, which uses advanced technology to offer an effortless drive in city drive as well as on the highways.
