Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said Class V and Class VIII final examinations in government, government-recognised private and government-aided schools will be in the "board examination" pattern. He, however, did not give details of what the board examination pattern would entail. To transform rural credit delivery system, the Reserve Bank has decided to launch pilot projects to digitise Kisan Credit Card (KCC) in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Based on the learnings from the pilot, it is planned to expand the digitalisation of KCC lending to other districts in these two states and gradually across the country, the RBI said in a statement. The pilot project would entail automation of various processes within banks and integration of their systems with the service providers, it said, adding, the proposed digitalisation of the KCC lending process will make it more efficient, reduce costs for borrowers and reduce turn around time (TAT) significantly. The TAT from loan application to disbursement has also been rather high, ranging from two to four weeks. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the state government to appoint an administrator to run the MP Nursing Council after observing that information furnished to the HC by the regulatory institution was incorrect. The HC, in a ruling delivered on Tuesday, also said the Registrar of the Nursing Council be kept under suspension forthwith subject to further orders of the court. The order came on a PIL that raised the issue of lack of infrastructure in nursing colleges in the state, particularly those located in tribal areas, the petitioner's counsel said. After taking photographs submitted by the petitioner's lawyer into account, the court observed at certain places just sheds have been shown as nursing colleges. Four school children were killed and 11 others injured after the jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district on Monday, a police official said. The accident took place near Jhirniya Fata in Unhel town when the children were on way to the Fatima Convent School, Nagda, Ujjain's Superintendent of Police Satyendra Shukla said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a red alert warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in four districts of Madhya Pradesh, as intermittent showers continued to lash in large parts of the state. The IMD has issued red alert for Narsinghpur, Damoh, Sagar and Chhatarpur districts warning of rainfall of 115.6 mm or more, and declared an orange alert and a yellow alert forecasting heavy showers and lightning for parts of the state, an official said. The orange alert forecasts likely heavy to very heavy showers, ranging between 64.5 mm and 204.4 mm, at isolated places in the districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Rewa, Gwalior and Chambal divisions and 18 more districts, including Jabalpur, he said. Five persons, including two members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Madhya Pradesh, were arrested by the police here on Wednesday for protesting over the issue of breach in the Karam Dam in Dhar district and alleging corruption in execution of the project, an official said. They were arrested and booked under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) section 188 (disobedience to the public servant order), he said. Among the arrested persons are state AAP spokespersons Hemant Joshi and Sanjeev Vaidya, the official said. All five were staging a protest on the Regal Square in Indore without taking permission from authorities for their agitation. The protesters blamed corruption in construction of the Rs 300-crore Karam Dam, which they alleged, led to the breach.
