Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday unfurled the national flag on Telangana Jateeya Samaikyata Dinotsavam (Telangana National Integration Day) here, to mark 75 years of Hyderabad's annexation to the Indian union. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday decided to name the State's new Secretariat, which is under construction, after B R Ambedkar. Ending speculations, Telangana Rashtra Samithi President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said he would launch a national party following more discussions with a cross-section of society. Seeking to provide a national alternative to the dominant BJP and the Congress parties, that is attempting at a bounce back, the TRS said it would reach a consensus on "alternative national agenda," by continuing discussions with various stakeholders. Rao made it clear that the launch of the party and formulation of policies would follow extended discussions with intellectuals, economists and experts from various fields. Telangana government on Saturday said it has decided to observe September 17 as Telangana National Integration Day. September 17 is the day erstwhile Hyderabad State under Nizam rule merged with the Indian Union in 1948. An official release issued after the State Cabinet meet headed by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here said the government would organise three-day celebrations beginning September 16. On September 17, KCR, as Rao is also known, would hoist the national flag in a public garden and address the people while the Ministers and other public representatives would do the same at their respective centres, it said. Rao conveyed his condolences to Sonia Gandhi and other members of the bereaved family, a CMO release said late on Wednesday.
