The broader indication is clear - that all is not well between the alliance partners
As soon as he joined the JD (U), Kishor started preparing the ground
Meanwhile, JD-U leader Sharad Yadav has dismissed speculation that he would join any political party
At one of his meetings, Yadav said there now existed two Janata Dals
Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader and Member of Parliament R C Prasad, also known as RCP, was Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's close aide until recently. But a string of electoral setbacks has made his position a tad shaky. According to a Bharatiya Janata Party leader in the state, he is now a favourite of the Opposition party. "He was the main strategist of the JD-U in the last Lok Sabha polls, but the party managed to win only two out of the 40 seats in the state," the BJP leader said. "In the Assembly elections, he was responsible for two seats: Biharsharif and Barh. Both were crucial to Nitishji and JD-U lost both." The BJP would be hoping RCP's losing streak continues.
Former Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MLA Usha Sinha dropped out of the public eye ever since her name was linked to the Bihar Intermediate Examination scandal. Now, her political detractors have started extracting her past deeds. "She claimed she was 12 when she completed her graduation," said a Rashtriya Janata Dal leader. Sinha, also the principal of Ganga Devi Mahila College, has had a chequered political career, too. "First she was in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Then she came to the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Finally, she moved to the JD-U," said the RJD leader.
