Canada: Hindu temple vandalised in Windsor, police launches investigation

A Hindu temple has been vandalised with anti-India graffiti in Windsor in Canada's Ontario, Windsor police said in a statement.The Windsor Police Service has started an investigation into the vandalism as a "hate-motivated incident" and two suspects are wanted in the incident.According to the statement, police personnel were sent to the Hindu temple on April 5 after a report of hate-motivated vandalism."On April 5, 2023, officers were dispatched to a Hindu temple in the 1700 block of Northway Avenue following a report of hate-motivated vandalism. Officers discovered anti-Hindu and anti-India graffiti sprayed in black on an exterior wall of the building," Windsor Police said in the statement.In the investigation, police officers obtained a video that shows two suspects in the area just after 12 am (local time)." Death toll in Indore temple tragedy rises to 35, search on for one

The death toll in the Indore temple stepwell roof collapse incident rose to 35 on Friday and a search operation is currently underway to trace one missing person, an official said. The slab constructed on top of an ancient 'bawdi' or stepwell collapsed during a 'havan' programme held on the occasion of Ram Navami at the Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple in the city on Thursday, plunging several devotees into the water reservoir below. The temple located in Patel Nagar, where the tragedy took place, had been constructed after covering the square-shaped stepwell of around 20 ft x 20 ft size about four decades ago. "Our search operation, being carried out with the help of Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), is nearing completion. So far, 35 bodies have been recovered from the well," Indore District Magistrate Dr Ilayaraja T told reporters from the site of the incident. PM Modi to visit Kedarnath-Badrinath today; tight security in place

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kedarnath and Badrinath on Friday during which he will inspect various ongoing development works and also lay foundation stones for some new projects. In view of the visit, security arrangements have been tightened in the area, an official said. While the officials are busy finalizing the preparations for the two-day program of the prime minister, the priests of both the Dhams and the devotees are also excited by his arrival.
