Haryana Roadways to soon have 375 new electric buses in its fleet

Haryana Roadways will soon have 375 new electric buses in its fleet to provide affordable, safe, convenient and eco-friendly public transport services to the citizens, said an official statement here on Friday. In this regard, the purchase of buses was approved in the meeting of High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and Department High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Along with this, an approval was accorded for the purchase of goods and items worth Rs 5,412 crore by various departments. Ministers Kanwar Pal, Mool Chand Sharma, Ranjit Singh Chautala and J P Dalal were present in the meeting. Khattar later said that 27 agendas pertaining to departments including irrigation, police, transport, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Agriculture Department, Secondary Education, were approved. Driver, conductor who saved Pant's life will be honoured: Pushkar Dhami

Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday said his governement will honour the driver and conductor of the Haryana Roadways bus who came to the rescue of cricketer Rishabh Pant during a road accident near Roorkee. "By saving the life of the cricketer at the risk of their own lives, the Haryana Roadways driver and conductor have set an example for others. "The state government will honour them on January 26," Dhami said at the inauguration of a hostel here. While going to Roorkee, his hometown, on Friday, Pant slept on the wheel and rammed his car into the divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Bus driver Sushil Kumar and conductor Paramjit, who were around and witnessed the accident, rescued Pant from the car. They pulled him out of the car and called the police.

Prez Murmu to launch Haryana Roadways' e-ticketing system on Tuesday

President Droupadi Murmu will launch Haryana Roadways' e-ticketing system in Kurukshetra on November 29, according to an official statement. The new e-ticketing system will not only benefit passengers but will also plug revenue leakage for the state-run transport, it said on Sunday. The e-ticketing system will replace the existing manual printed tickets with an open loop system as envisioned by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, it said. Under the new system, 10 lakh National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) will be issued for free or at concessional rates. In the initial phase, the project will be implemented in six depots --Chandigarh, Karnal, Faridabad, Sonipat, Bhiwani and Sirsa. It will be extended to the remaining 18 depots by the end of January 2023, the government said. In future, the NCMCs can be used in metros and trains, too, it added. The e-ticket system will also benefit the state government as it will completely stop revenue leakage as well as save use of paper, the .
