The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory in view of the reopening of the Ashram Flyover from 5 pm on Monday following the inauguration of an extension. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate the Ashram flyover extension on Monday. In its advisory issued on Sunday, the Delhi Traffic Police advised commuters to plan their journey as usual and to follow the directions of its personnel posted in the area to avoid inconvenience. It said commuters using Barapulla Flyover are advised to use Ashram Flyover for the following destinations. According to the advisory, only light vehicles coming from DND and going towards Gurugram, Chirag Delhi, Kalkaji, Khanpur, Greater Kailash, Saket, AIIMS, INA and Safdarjung are advised to take the Ashram Flyover instead of Barapulla Flyover. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Saturday organised a 10-km guided e-bike tour covering heritage sites such as Sheesh Mahal, Gordon Highlanders Memorial and Roshnara Bagh and tomb. This was the second such tour organised by the civic body, with the first held in January. The MCD has partnered with Yulu Bikes to offer guided e-tours to showcase the rich heritage of the city, an official said. "A heritage tour was organised by Keshavpuram Zone starting from Sheesh Mahal Park Entrance, Haiderpur. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Keshav Puram zone, Naveen Aggarwal and other senior municipal officials were also present," the MCD said in a statement. The AIIMS in Delhi will soon pair up with other city government hospitals to ensure cross referral of patients, a move aimed at managing the burgeoning patient load at Centre-run premier health facility, officials said on Friday. Denial of admission under EWS or Disadvantaged Group category by a school even after allotment by the authorities frustrates and undermines the noble objective of the law on right to education and violates the fundamental rights of children under the Constitution, the Delhi High Court has said. The court's observation came on a petition by a minor boy who sought a direction to a private school here to give him admission in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS)/ Disadvantaged Group (DG) category. The school's objection before the court was that the petitioner's residence was not within the 0-1 km radius and so he was not eligible for admission. Eight people sustained minor injuries in a stampede triggered by a fire at a slum cluster in outer Delhi's Sultanpuri, Delhi Fire Services officials said on Friday. Atul Garg, Director of the Delhi Fire Services, said a call about a fire was received at 12.13 am, following which 21 fire tenders were deployed. According to the fire department, 200 shanties were completely gutted in the fire. "Due to a stampede, eight people sustained minor injuries and they were administered first-aid," Garg said. Those injured were identified has Surajmal (72), Kapoor (50), Sagar (25), Pappu (55), Babloo (65), Kawar Singh (52), Raj Singh (72) and Chand (55), he added.

Delhi airport operator DIAL on Wednesday said facial recognition technology-based DigiYatra facility will be available for passengers at all entry and boarding gates of Terminal 2 and 3 by the end of March. The DigiYatra facility at entry gates of Terminal 1 of the airport is likely to be operational from April. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital, operated by the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), is the country's largest airport and has three terminals. In the first phase, the DigiYatra facility was introduced at three airports -- Delhi, Bengaluru and Varanasi -- on December 1, 2022. "At present, around 2,500 passengers are using DigiYatra at Delhi Airport's Terminal 3 every day. "After the installation of all the DigiYatra infrastructure at Terminal 3 and Terminal 2, around 40 per cent of the daily domestic travellers will be able to get seamless entry into the terminal, security check area, and boarding gates," DIAL said in a release. "We have purchased land located at Sector 22 in Rohini from Yogi Raj Promoters Pvt Ltd," Migsun Group MD Yash Miglani told reporters here. Migsun Group has entered into a share purchase agreement with Yogi Raj Promoters, which owns this 9-acre land parcel, he added. The company will fund the land acquisition cost through internal accruals. "We will develop a high-street retail project on this land, comprising 1 million square feet area. Food delivery apps Swiggy and Zomato have complained to the Delhi government against challans being issued to their two-wheeler riders in the name of a ban on bike taxi services in the national capital. The food delivery platforms have also sought clarification from the government on the directive while claiming that there has been misinterpretation of the notice as the ban is applicable on bike taxi service providers. Swiggy in a letter to the government has said that food delivery riders are being fined up to Rs 15,000 in the garb of the ban on bike taxi services. "The recent changes in regulations on bike taxi services in Delhi have caused confusion and disruption to food/quick commerce delivery aggregators. Our delivery executives are being wrongly issued challans despite the notification being applicable only to bike taxi service providers," a Swiggy spokesperson told PTI. The AIIMS hospital in Delhi has been assigned the responsibility of providing medical coverage for the G-20 foreign ministers meeting scheduled from March 1 to 3 at the Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre, according to an official document. To provide medical services in the shortest possible time under this contingency plan, it has been decided that all requisite arrangements, including the physical presence of faculty, residents, nursing, technical and other staff, and preparedness of the various areas included in the plan will be ensured, it said.
