CM Arvind Kejriwal to inaugurate Ashram flyover extension on Monday

Commuting between Delhi and Noida will become hassle-free after the Ashram flyover extension is opened to public on Monday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate the flyover extension, which will allow motorists to bypass three traffic lights between Ashram Chowk and DND and make vehicular movement smoother. The project was supposed to be inaugurated on February 28, but the event was postponed. Officials had initially suggested that the delay was because of then PWD Minister Manish Sisodia's arrest, but Chief Minister Kejriwal told a press conference later that it was due to some pending work. "It is likely to be inaugurated on Monday. The postponement was not due to (arrest of) Sisodia, but because a few works were left, he had said. Delhi govt calls LG mini-dictator after he returns file on teacher training

Delhi government on Saturday claimed that LG V K Saxena has returned the file on Finland teacher training programme in "flagrant violation" of the Constitution and SC orders, and described him as a "mini-dictator". The lieutenant governor has given in-principle approval to the city government's proposal to send primary teachers of state-run schools to Finland for training but with certain conditions, officials said on Saturday. Saxena, in his approval, said he was okaying the proposal in the "interest of facilitating an executive decision flawed that it may be, rather than joining issues to enable anarchic disruption". He also noted that there was refusal by the Arvind Kejriwal government to bring on record the "impact assessment of the foreign training programmes conducted in the past". Hitting out at the LG, the Delhi government, in a statement, alleged that he returned the proposal after sitting on it for four months and ensuring that it became infructuous since the trainings w

Delhi mayor being 'remote-controlled' by AAP for civic governance: BJP

The BJP on Saturday alleged that Delhi mayor Shelly Oberoi sits like a "dummy" in municipal meetings and, instead of exercising her own wisdom for civic governance, is being "remote-controlled" by senior AAP leaders for decision-making. Senior BJP leader and former South Delhi mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat made the accusations during a press conference at the saffron party's Delhi unit headquarters. There was no immediate reaction from Oberoi or the AAP. Oberoi either "remains mute" or reacts with a sense of delay, as if she has received "some instructions" from AAP leaders like Atishi, who is mostly "remotely feeding information" to her over mobile, Sehrawat alleged. In meetings, it is expected that a mayor will exercise his or her own wisdom and work with all the councillors and other leaders for the city's collective good, she said. "But, in the meetings with department heads and others that she attends, AAP leaders Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj accompany her. And she sits there like
