Atishi hits back at BJP over claims of 'poor results' of Delhi govt schools

Delhi Education Minister Atishi on Monday slammed the BJP for "spreading misinformation" and "concocting lies" about the results of city government-run schools. She was reacting to claims by the saffron party that 50 out of every 100 students studying in Delhi government schools dropped out in class 10 and that a similar dropout pattern was seen in classes 11 and 12. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also alleged that teachers were forced to write answers in almost blank answer sheets of below average students, especially in multiple choice questions section, and then pass them with minimum 33 per cent marks. Party sources said on Monday that Shetty will soon take a call with regard to his candidature and his future in politics. Sources said Shetty, a popular leader in Udupi district, is contemplating political retirement with a rider that his close aide Kiran Kumar Kodgi be given the ticket from Kundapur to contest on a BJP ticket. Nadda speaks to Bengal BJP chief over Ram Navami violence, NIA probe sought

BJP president JP Nadda spoke to his party's West Bengal unit chief Sukanta Majumdar on Monday evening over the situation in violence-hit Howrah and Hooghly districts. With MCD panel not elected, services of 3 'third parties' discontinued

As the standing committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is yet to be elected, services of three 'third parties' have been discontinued by the civic body from April 1 onwards, and they have been directed to withdraw data entry operators and other contractual workers engaged through them, official sources said on Monday. Earlier, a group of BJP councillors protested at the Civic Centre -- MCD's headquarters -- and alleged that "services of contract workers have been discontinued".
