Haryana CM Khattar accuses Hooda of making 'wrong statement' on state-debt

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday accused Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda of making a "wrong statement" on the state's outstanding debt. Haryana has a debt of more than Rs 415,000 crore while the amount of debt on Haryana in 2021-22 has been shown at Rs 239,000 crore in the Comptroller Accountant General report, the Opposition leader had said. Alleging that Hooda's statement "was beyond facts", Khattar said a debt of Rs 227,697 crore was recorded in the Haryana government's account books. If the difference of this amount is also taken out, then only a difference of Rs 12,000 crore is visible -- the state does not have a debt of Rs 415,000 crore in any respect, Khattar said on the concluding day of the Haryana assembly's three-day Winter Session. Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday accused the BJP-JJP government of pushing Haryana into a debt trap with its "wrong economic policies". Govt should compensate farmers for damage caused by rainfall: Hooda

Senior Congress leader and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda demanded on Friday that the state government pay compensation to farmers whose crops were damaged due to incessant rain in the past two days. "Every farmer has suffered a loss of thousands of rupees due to the destruction of standing paddy crop. Due to waterlogging, all crops, including paddy, have been damaged.
