BEL, YIL join hands for ammunition hardware, military grade components

Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Yantra India Limited (YIL) for co-operation in the areas of ammunition hardware and military grade components to jointly address the requirements of Indian defence and export markets. The pact aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and YIL, a state-owned defence company, and sharing of manufacturing and test infrastructure/resources for the production of arms and ammunition and related systems, the Bengaluru-headquartered BEL said in a statement on Tuesday.

Triton EV issues Rs 8,060 cr LoI to BEL for purchase of battery packs

Electric vehicle maker Triton Electric India has issued a letter of intent to defence public sector unit Bharat Electronics for the procurement of battery packs for its semi-truck project in India at an estimated value of Rs 8,060 crore, according to a regulatory filing. The 300 kilowatt lithium-ion battery packs are to be delivered by Bharat Electronics (BEL) to Triton in 24 months commencing from January 2023, the filing stated. "Triton Electric Vehicle India Pvt Ltd, a part of Triton Electric Vehicle LLC, USA today issued a letter of intent to Navaratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics for procurement of 300 KW Li-Ion battery packs for its semi-truck project in India at an estimated value of Rs 8,060 crore," the filing said. BEL to manufacture Hydrogen fuel cells with technology from US-based TEV

Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd has signed an MoU with US-based Triton Electric Vehicle for manufacturing Hydrogen fuel cells with technology transfer from the latter to meet the requirements of the Indian market and mutually agreed export markets. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims at tapping the demand for clean energy solutions for various applications, including e- mobility, by leveraging central government's thrust for adoption of clean energy fuels for applications in transport and energy storage, the Bengaluru-headquartered company said in a statement. TEV has set up its R&D centre and manufacturing facility in India. It has recently forayed into Hydrogen-run vehicles and started the journey of manufacturing Hydrogen-run two-wheelers, three-wheelers and buses, according to the statement.

Bharat Electronics Limited, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, on Friday announced the successful completion of manufacturing 30,000 numbers of ICU Ventilators in a 'record time' to help the Governmet of India in its efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. Public sector Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) is looking at a fresh order for Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems to boost revenues in the current fiscal, while also expecting to make more deliveries for the Akash Missile system to India's armed forces. BEL, which reported a revenue of Rs 8,825 crore for the year that ended March 31, says it is confident about breaching the Rs 10,000 crore revenue mark in the current fiscal. The revenue growth will come despite the firm moving away from being a manufacturer to more of a system integrator, it said. An order worth Rs 1,500 crore for a delivering a little over eight lakh VVPAT machines has been received by BEL, which the company will have to fulfill before September 2018. The Rs 1,670-crore share sale in Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) garnered encouraging response on Wednesday, with the institutional investors' portion getting subscribed more than two times.The government is divesting five per cent stake in BEL through an offer for sale (OFS) at a floor price of Rs 1,498 per share as a part of 2016-17 disinvestment programme. The 2.23 million shares for retail investors will be auctioned on Thursday. The government currently holds 74.41 per cent in BEL.On Wednesday, the OFS attracted bids 20.9 million bids as against 8.9 million on offer.
