Akasa Air on Monday unveiled the first look of its crew uniform as the startup carrier prepares for take-off in the coming weeks. The airline, backed by ace stock market investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, is likely to start services by the end of this month. Direct Bhubaneswar-Dubai flights very soon, says Odisha CM Patnaik

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that direct flights will be operated between Bhubaneswar to Dubai very soon. Patnaik made this announcement while addressing the Odia diaspora in Dubai on Wednesday. Nearly one lakh people of Odisha live in the United Arab Emirates. Direct air connectivity between Dubai and Bhubaneswar has been their long-pending demand. The chief minister's private secretary VK Pandian, who is accompanying Patnaik in the foreign tour, said that the Odisha government has already proceeded with a viability gap funding (VGF) plan for direct flight services between Dubai and Bhubaneswar. VGF is a grant provided to support infrastructure projects that are economically justified but fall short of financial viability. IndiGo to operate additional flights on three routes starting July 1

IndiGo on Wednesday said it will operate additional flights on Delhi-Leh, Delhi-Srinagar and Lucknow-Pantnagar routes from July 1 onwards due to increased demand. "We are pleased to strengthen our network by adding frequencies on Delhi-Leh, Delhi-Srinagar and Lucknow-Pantnagar routes, catering to increased demand for travel to Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Kashmir," Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, IndiGo, said in a statement. IndiGo has been witnessing high demand on Delhi-Leh route and with this new service, we will have three daily flights from Delhi to Leh, he noted. "We are getting a good response to our Lucknow- Pantnagar flight and with the increase in frequency, this flight would now operate five days a week," he mentioned.

State-owned Alliance Air launches flight on Bilaspur-Bhopal route

The Centre-run Alliance Air on Sunday started a flight between Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, which will operate four days in a week. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was in Kanker district, virtually launched the inaugural flight which took off from the Bilasa Devi Kevat Airport in Bilaspur, located nearly 125 km from the state capital Raipur. The ATR 72-seater aircraft of the Alliance Air took off from Bilaspur at 11.35 am on Sunday for Bhopal with 50 passengers onboard. It will be operated four days a week (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday)," Bilaspur Collector Saransh Mittar said. The aviation services at the Bilaspur airport started on March 1 last year, with two flights connecting the city to Delhi via Jabalpur and Prayagraj, he said.
