New Delhi, June 2 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 129.21 points up to stand at 26,843.14. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 39.00 points up to stand at 8,218.95. Crompton Greaves Ltd and Gateway Distriparks Ltd were among the top gainers of group A with an increase of 8.50% and 6.99% along with Engineers India Ltd and Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd with an increase of 6.78% and 6.58% respectively, while the top losers of group A includes Punj Lloyd Ltd and Cadila Healthcare Ltd with a decrease of 5.19% and 2.82% along with KPIT Technologies Limited and Amtek Auto Ltd with a decrease of 2.79% and 2.73% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 84.93 points at 19332.09 while the Banking sector is up 183.48 points at 20055.16 and the Realty sector is up 2.19 points at 1428.49. The Indian currency is 0.30% down with Rs. 67.24 per dollar.

A federal judge has sided with Facebook parent Meta and cleared the way for the company to buy virtual reality startup Within Unlimited, the maker of the popular fitness app Supernatural.
Federal antitrust regulators had sought to block the acquisition on the grounds that it would hurt competition in the emerging virtual reality market.
But U.S. District Judge Edward Davila denied the Federal Trade Commission's request for a preliminary injunction against the deal. The judge's ruling said the agency did not provide sufficient evidence to prove its case.
Meta said it will now proceed with its acquisition of Within Unlimited.

There is a serious failure of Jharkhand in preventing the continued "environmental lawlessness", the National Green Tribunal observed while hearing petitions regarding alleged violations of environmental norms by quarrying and crushing units in the Rajmahal hills.
The green panel also directed the chief secretary to personally monitor compliance as there was "much to be desired in remedial action against gross continuing violations in spite of categorical orders".
The tribunal was hearing petitions that claimed that stone-crushing and mining companies in the Rajmahal hills of Sahebganj district were indulging in indiscriminate mining without regard for environmental norms.
The hills are blown up, huge dust is generated and air and water pollution is caused -- to the detriment of the environment and public health -- during the process, the petitions alleged.
A bench of Chairperson Justice AK Goel said despite several orders -- including prohibiting illegal mining and non-compliant .
