Share Market Highlights: The day ended in favor of bears as 37 out of 50 constituent stocks of Nifty50 ended in the red
Stock Market Highlights, Friday, October 4, 2024: Benchmark equity indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50, ended the week's last trading session in negative territory, weighed down by selling across sectors.
The BSE Sensex shed 808.65 points or 0.98 per cent to 81,688.45. The index traded in the range of 81,532.68-83,368.32 today.
Similarly, the Nifty50 also dropped 200.25 points or 0.79 per cent to settle at 25,049.85 on Friday. The index traded in the range of 24,966.80-25,485.05 today.
The day ended in favor of bears as 37 out of 50 constituent stocks of Nifty50 ended in the red, dragged down by Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Nestle India, BPCL, and Hero MotoCorp, with losses extending up to 3.54 per cent

a The stock exchange, in a notice, said, "Members are requested to note that the Exchange Contingency Tests shall be carried out between 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM for mock trading on Saturday, September 28, 2024." This means that the exchange will conduct a mock session on Saturday, September 28.
Further, according to its notice, the exchange will also conduct live trading sessions from the Disaster Recovery website on September 30 (Monday) and October 1 (Tuesday), while regular live trading from the primary website will commence from October 3 (Wednesday).
Markets will be closed on October 2, on account of Gandhi Jayanti.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: NSE today announced the schedule to hold mock and live trading sessions with a view to "check the connectivity and to avoid login problems in live trading sessions from DR (disaster recovery) site.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: India’s foreign exchange reserves surged by $2.8 billion to hit new all-time high of $692 billion for the week ended September 20, latest data by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showed on Friday. The reserves reached a record high for a fifth consecutive week, edging closer to the $700-billion mark.

PM to inaugurate two-day long national conference on district judiciary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a two-day long national conference of district judiciary beginning Saturday. The function is being organised by the Supreme Court. “The prime minister will be releasing a coin and postage stamp to commemorate 75 years of the establishment of the apex court. The inaugural function will also be attended by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (independent charge) for Law and Justice among other dignitaries,” the apex court said in a release.

Demolition drive in southeast Delhi, residents say not enough time given to move out
A demolition drive was carried out on Friday by authorities in southeast Delhi's Okhla Phase-2 JJ cluster under heavy security arrangements, officials said. Residents alleged that they have been living here for many years and that they were not given enough time to take out their belongings. Dheeraj, a resident of the area, said that they received a notice regarding the demolition two days ago.
