Spotify India & MnM Talkies bring Gotham City to Andheri (India)

For years, Indian audiences have responded well to translations of famous movies and shows; be it international or regional. But when it comes to adaptations of popular works by international creators, it has always been a debate. Looks like, ‘Batman Ek Chakravyuh’ is here to break the clutter.

Spotify India and MnM Talkies have worked well on detailing and towards localising the scripts, adapting the storyline with references that the Indian audiences would relate to. It would be only fair to say that they’ve quite literally brought Gotham City to Andheri (India). 

Director of the show, Mantra shared, “India has a huge market base for International shows and series, may it be OTT or Podcasts. The dubbing industry is also shining with regional cinema being dubbed in various languages. It is because, with ‘Batman Ek Chakravyuh’, we had the opportunity to adapt and not translate the original script, that it is more relatable and the characters are easier to accept as our own.”

The podcast Batman Ek Chakravyuh is like a new wave in the realm of audio and podcasts. The podcast has been produced, recorded, and distributed in other languages, including the original English script. It is important to remember that this is not just a work of translation, but an adaptation.

‘Batman Ek Chakravyuh’ has a flavour of the Batman we know of, yet is a fresh story in itself. It's a delight for both the ears and the intellect. The show, which stars Amit Sadh as Bruce, Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Barbara Gordon, Sharib Hashmi as the Riddler, and many more well-known artists, is now rising on Spotify charts.
