Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 2.38%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 2.38% at 2870.65 today. The index is up 8.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Indian Bank gained 4.09%, Bank of Baroda rose 3.83% and Union Bank of India jumped 3.23%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is up 22.00% over last one year compared to the 8.46% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index added 1.79% and Nifty Financial Services index gained 1.57% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.71% to close at 17659 while the SENSEX added 0.88% to close at 59332.6 today.
