Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index gains 2.34%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.34% at 2853.85 today. The index has gained 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of Baroda rose 4.40%, Canara Bank gained 3.17% and State Bank of India jumped 2.07%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has soared 28.00% over last one year compared to the 6.55% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index gained 1.81% and Nifty IT index has dropped 1.77% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.50% to close at 17577.5 while the SENSEX increased 0.44% to close at 59031.3 today.
