Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 2.21%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 2.21% at 2599.45 today. The index has gained 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Canara Bank shed 3.96%, Indian Overseas Bank fell 3.10% and Bank of Baroda slipped 3.00%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has soared 5.00% over last one year compared to the 0.53% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index has dropped 1.58% and Nifty Energy index increased 1.00% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.18% to close at 15938.65 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.18% to close at 53416.15 today.
